Poll: The Jake Ferguson Incompletion Turned Interception

Should Ferguson have caught this pass?

Yes an NFL player should have caught it. And yes an NFL quarterback should/could have thrown it better.
That wasn't the question i'm sorry but first of all I found out he had a hand issue 2nd of all no that's not how it works If you put it in a cat's radius in the area you tell me that no quarterback throws balls off that's weird because Matthew Stafford led the league in interceptions in his Super Bowl year with the Rams through two interceptions in the Super Bowl so tell me how all his balls were perfectly thrown 'cause I'd like to know how you think that apparently you don't watch things like Top 10 catches in the NFL week remember ESPN used to top 10 this and top 10 that you know those catches were all balls thrown off you think that catch by OBJ that was perfectly thrown right there in that spot or did he reach back and get that like he was in the Matrix?

He's famous for that but all these catches that guys have to go up in be all weird angles and contort their body you know what that is what NFL receivers can do that one that was thrown to Ferguson though that's an easy catch for most NFL targets Maybe not for some guys with no hands but this is supposed to be a starting tight end and it was not an uncatchable ball in any way he didn't have to leave his feet or dive So what exactly are you trying to say that these guys need perfectly throwing balls all the time and that no one else but Prescott throws Left some perfect balls or is that what you trying to tell me Should we look at Jalen Hurts How about Jackson dart, Wait let's now do Lamar Jackson the MVP you're telling me that he throws perfectly thrown I mean right in the chest or stomach area every single throw He's an MVP are we gonna go now to Josh Allen are you trying to sell me the fact that some of these best quarterbacks never throw a ball That's needs to be adjusted to?

Curious how you trying to throw that hate in there like Prescott hasn't been throwing darts lasers all year has won off game and you think that those two balls shouldn't have been caught now both of them should have been caught interpret shouldn't have fumble and guess what all three of those scenarios just erase them like they never happened Tack on 10 points for the Cowboys for those mistakes not being there and guess what even with 26 points the Cowboys lose that game because the defense and special teams would have found a way to lose the game as usual..

you all Are hilarious though and not in a good way, Think that we don't watch sports I mean we watch football high school college and professional lot of us watch it all or have played it and there's a reason why your receivers and quarterbacks have to work together because nothing could be perfect at all times but let me tell you something up until that game Prescott was absolutely throwing Dimes lasers II don't know what else they said he was nails mostly or he has one off game and you have to throw that pot shot in there no those balls should have been caught..

All I saw is that an NFL starting TE had the ball hit him in his hands for the second time in the game and he didn’t make the play. PERIOD!!!!! Just like I said Dak Prescott played like crap most of that game. Didn’t pick or choose one over the other - both needed to do better. But, on THAT play, Jake Ferguson crapped the bed…as he’s been doing for most of the year.
And I agree with that. All of it.

What I do not agree with is this notion it was "perfect". No one is saying it HAD to be perfect. Not sure why people hurt themselves leaping to those kinds of conclusions.

They are NOT in front of his moving direction. They are "in front" of his chest because he had to turn his body.

His legs are running to the sideline, his chest is pointed at dak. Then he has to reach up. The catch HAS to be made but it's not the "easiest" for a big TE.

When I say "in front of him"...I'm talking about the direction he's running, not him having to turn his torso.

I don't "expect perfection"...but ...sometimes... it helps.

Weird we all see something just a little different..but...look at the poll. 92% blame Ferg, as it should be.

Two things CAN be true at the same time.
in front, as in front of his chest. not to the right of his chest...if you look, you will see his body is turned toward the QB, as he is recieving the pass and his hands are in front (of his chest, above his head).

don't make excuses because of your hate for dak. its a routine throw and catch in NFL. all recievers, TEs run crossing routes, and turn and catch the ball.

its not perfection. its a routine throw, made every week in the NFL.

geez you people, you twist yourselves into double knot pretzels, trying to put some blame on Dak. this was 100% on fergi. end of story.

if mahomes made this throw to Kelce, and it would be interecepted as such, everyone would blame only Kelce

But that's not the direction he's moving.

Let's say you're driving your car down the road. What "direction" is "in front"?

It doesn't matter where you turn your head, right?

If you are confused (or wrong) about that...you shouldn't be driving.

I don't care if you think insulting people means you're right. Because you're not.

By the way...I voted ferg...so you can take YOUR "hate" and you know what.

Where did I say the pass was perfect? Sure, it may have been a fast ball, but the ball when his hands - he needs to make the play. Just like Dak needs to make more plays as well seeing that his defense is NOT showing the ability to bail him and the offense out more times than not. All these things can be true.

I never said YOU said it.

I usually make note of that..a general statement....my apologies.

It hit his hands but was thrown 70mph from about 24 ft away. I can understand the drop. I'll say no.

its a regular route...he runs the route, and then turn his chest towards the QB, the ball was there....NFL recievers practice that ALL the time.
its actually an easier catch than if he was running that direction, his chest pointing to the sideline and then trying to catch in front of him, with his right hand or hands twisted....for that he would have his right hand lower, left hand higher and twisted to make the nest for the ball and try to catch the ball. if he was running more vertically, he would make a scoop with his hands for the ball to drop in there, ala Pickens or CD did earlier in the game.

again, that was the route for the play...its obvious...run it across, turn and catch the ball, shielding the DB....routine route. routine play. fergi dropped it. if Fergi makes that catch, then all would say nothing...as it is right now, they are not saying anything about any of the catches made and none are being analyzed.

Fergi dropped another pass killing a drive in the first half as well. he was having a bad night. and if this pass would hit the ground, nobody would argue.

and where is the insult or are you still hurting from before? people who said no, or reluctantly yes, are twisting things and themselves into all kinds of shapes to try to just give Dak some blame. "he threw it too hard, he should have led him 6 more inches, the ball should have been 6 inches lower, he was twisting backwards (imagination)....blah blah blah". "it was fergi's fault...but Dak"

this play is made every week, every game, all the time, every team.

fergi dropped the ball. I am right, because its simple. I see the facts in that play, no agenda.

and before you go on a tirade, I criticized Dak for tampa game plenty.... but not on this specific play. Dak had a bad game, except for whatever reason the last two drives he came alive and seemingly the team came alive and played with a sense of urgency they hadn't played all game.

you have a speed monitor? or is that your eye test. 24 feet is 8 yards... but I get it, you have to put bigger numbers to make it sound legit.

it was closer to 50 feet away from the spot of the throw. I had a tape measure...

Way too easy for an NFL receiver. The rule is simple: if the ball hits you in both hands, you’re expected to catch it. Period. He’s wide open and bigger than the defender. There’s really no other explanation other than he missed it.
