Should Ferguson have caught this pass?

"Fan Club" thoughts IMHO. Worth as much as my 2-cent post. No problem. Do you think he should have caught that ball?
I told you I voted that he most assuredly should have...needs to...HAS TO. and I bench him. Not just for that either.

It doesn't make the throw "perfect".

Two things can be true at the same time.

The one thing I learned as a receiver growing up is that you always want to get your head back as quick as possible, and don't waste time with all the jukes and jives while running route, make your move, a hard cut and get your head up fast and be ready to catch and get hit so brace yourself. I don't like Dak, AT ALL, but those balls should be caught 100 out of 100 times.

The videos posted are pretty compelling, IMO. No receiver in the NFL can expect the ball to be anywhere else. It was right in his face, he got both hands around it. It's a concentration issue. Maybe could've had a little less velocity on the throw, but other QBs drill their receivers much harder. Our guys are soft.

It’s not like he had to Calvin Johnson, high point it.

BTW a receiver is graded by how good or bad they are at high pointing passes. I know, I know, he’s a TE, not a wide receiver, but if he can’t even do a little bit of high pointing then they shouldn’t be sending him on pass routes. Thus, he shouldn’t be seeing the field for the majority of offensive stats. He stinks at blocking so at this point, he’s not even a sub package TE.

It’s not exactly in-stride, but nowhere near being ‘behind’ him either.

There’s a difference between throwing hard and throwing hard and over peoples’ heads. 65% of the time.
Didn't Dak's pass go over Ferg's head?

I know I know I'm kidding! Not THAT far over!

I'd like to see someone coach Milton off the ledge. Calm him down, throw with some touch. I think it can be done and his mentality is what needs coached the most. Not every play is do or die.

But now that's he's an beagle....don't care as much.

That is ALL...I'm saying. And look at people lose their minds about it.

I don't understand how "should have been caught" and "not a perfect pass" is so not understandable to them.

Ok.....is there any problem I didn't vote or just commented on posts? Fergie should have caught that ......fast ball or wounded duck, high or low.....hit his hands.

No...there's no problem. I never said it was.

Go ahead and vote. Help our cause!

he was running from the right of the field to the left, turned his chest forward to recieve the pass, hands was in front, slightly above his head.

not sure what's so confusing about this for you.

like I said, you are twisting yourself into a double knot pretzel (an analogy, not an insult since you are utterly sensitive). now you are talking about cars, directions,

routine route. routine play. every team runs it every week. happens all the time. fergi was at fault. that was his second drop of the game. facts. not opinion.

you voted ferg, with a "but".
I don’t see that at all. Just looks like he went up, half a foot or so, to high point the pass.

That’s only 2-3 inches higher than Angel Reese is able to jump.

I will get the "no" votes started.... You seem to be saying you thought it was a catchable pass, I don't. In real time Ferg is twisting too much to his left because the pass was a bit behind him, not leading like it should have been thrown. Had he caught it it would have been a heck of a catch, though.

The argument I keep reading is Ferg got his hands on the ball - he should have caught it. To that I would say go run the same play yourself and twist your body the opposite direction you are running and try to make the catch. It's not as easy as some would say. This argument keeps coming from Dak lovers who refuse to hold him accountable for anything, so take that for what it's worth.
Ball should've been thrown better, Fergie still should've caught it.

This is just simply not that complicated.

There is no scenario in which this is on the QB. I don't care if he shot it out of a t-shirt cannon and the ball was covered in KY. CATCH THE FOOTBALL.

It is incredibly hypocritical standards to say the throw is the problem. Saying that is just starting with "Dak sucks" and working backwards.
Not it's not. It's incredibly small minded to say there's only one problem.

I’d argue the drop isn’t on the QB but the INT partially is. You don’t throw high over the middle for this very reason, everyone knows that. Passes 5-20 yards over the middle have to be below shoulder level so if it’s plinko’d it goes down and not up. I think it sailed on Dak a bit
He was throwing hard all game. I don't know why, but it certainly seemed that way.
