Teams who have scored 30 or more points 3 or more times this year:

8 teams

Lions (4 times)............ 3-2
49ers (3 times)............ 5-0
Bills (3 times).............. 4-1
Panthers (3 times)...... 2-2
Chiefs (3 times).......... 4-0
Ravens (3 times)........ 4-1
Seahawks (3 times).... 3-3
Cowboys (3 times)...... 2-3

We're the only team that's below .500....... altho 2-2 and 3-3 compared to 2-3 can change really fast and it's not a huge insurmountable lead.

But the issue is mostly the defense. You can pick at a few random offensive bad plays.... the Dak throwaway on 3rd and goal, and the Ferguson tipped ball INT...... but a few bad offensive plays compared to like 100 bad defensive plays..... the defense carries the far greater blame.

If we scored 30 or more 3 times in 5 games........ our record should be 3-2 case closed. The only one who has scored 30+ more than 3 times is the Lions.

correct! and until the defense and special teams catch up, they’re miles behind and have been lapped twice by the offense.

The offense is doing their best and largely doing their job. Expecting them to perform at an even higher level is unrealistic.

In years past, with coaches like Mike McCarthy, you could point to the defense and special teams creating short fields, scoring points, and providing support, which sometimes made the offense look better than it really was.

But this year, it’s tough to coach when the offense rarely gets the ball and the clock is constantly running down.

Take the Giants game and others since the start of the season, there have been stretches where they score early, then don’t get the ball back for 11 minutes, or go nearly an hour between possessions from the second quarter to their 1st possession in the third.

This keeps them cold, and opposing teams are essentially playing keep-away because of our defense and special teams.

Judging the offense under these conditions is ridiculous.

If they were any better, they’d be scoring on every drive, but there just aren’t enough opportunities.

They’ve maximized the chances they’ve had, and only Kansas City has had fewer drives, though they’ve already had their bye week. The rest of the league enjoys far more possessions.

Let's take last game, for instance, from last night, two teams that in regulation only scored 14 points each, but at one time the Super Bowl champion. Seahawks only had three points in the first 3/4, and we've seen posts about this offense needs to start quicker. They need to score more in the first quarter. They need to score more. When needed. They can't have any three announced. They can't have any. Possessions without scoring. It took five quarters for the Denver Broncos to score. 17 points to win the game and it took an interception. Which by the way are. Lovely defense only has. What? One turnover, like one fumble recovery and no interceptions. And they have the lowest amount of sacks. They had more sacks in that game. The Broncos did, and the Cowboys have had all season...

But get this stat line 17 points for the Broncos. Because of their defense, more so. But 2.94 yards per throw, Stay at 100 yards. Passing for the game like net was like 94. Yes, Bo Nix and Sean Payton. You know, we getting a lot of Flack around here with Shottenheimer. This dude's offense is not good. Almost all of the throws were either at the line of scrimmage or behind the line of scrimmage...

Can you imagine if our defense played like any one of those defenses last night? We would likely be undefeated because even at our worst with Tampa Bay, with all the turnovers. The Cowboys still scored 16 points. 16 points. That's been tough for the Seahawks and the Broncos to get to in 4 quarters, so just make sure people understand how good our offense has been. Even if it has flaws, it is really good with almost a limited amount of possessions. Shortly thereafter, the defendant and no help from anyone else..

Basically this defense is so bad the offense needs to be perfect for the Cowboys to even have a chance to win.

When they are not perfect, well, you get last Thursday night as your result.
And that's the irony here. They're getting criticized. The offense is being criticized and nitpicked because they're not doing enough. They don't start the games fast enough. They they had a couple of times where the defense made stops and then they had a 3 and out. You're right, it's so ridiculous. For the offense to even be mentioned for anything because they have scored enough this year that with a good defense they probably would be undefeated. Can you imagine how many extra possessions and maybe some points added in some short fields? What this offense could do??

It's true, the offense has not been perfect. We get it. But there's no reason to nitpick, because even in Tampa Bay, if they Would have played better. Just take the turnovers away, make some of those hit the ground, maybe score 10 more points. They'd have been at 26 points, probably likely lost the game because they would have gave up one more possession to Tampa Bay. Because that's how it always works around here. Hell, even Prescott's rookie year, how many times did he come back against the Packers to only have one minute left on the clock? Or was it 73 seconds and give up an easy drive for a field goal? Which by the way, I believe they had a penalty on the first one or something happened and they got a second chance and made 250 plus yard field goals. Where was the special teams blocking those? This just goes all the way back to that II get tired of hearing about the offense, but this year alone this offense could be even more potent if it had any help at all. .

Offense had 4 possessions in the 2nd qtr. 3 points and about 5 minutes of clock possession.

That doesn't matter. Your comprehension skills are ridiculous the the way you can try to say that the 16 points wasn't enough to win games. Did you watch the game last night? Both teams only have 14 points each in regulations, and the mighty, mighty super champions of the NFL only had three points for 3/4, and it took Denver five quarters to score 17 points. You know what that tells me? No matter how bad a game they had, 16 points is enough to win a lot of games in the NFL. And yes, they shot themselves in the foot with mistakes, but they're allowed to have a game like this. Where's the help from the special teams in the defense? That's what you're missing here. But that's why, saying it best, we should be. Three and two. Not asking for much, but I think this team would be undefeated if it had a defense anywhere close to the two we saw last night.

No one's denying that the Tampa Bay game was a bad game for the offense. The first one. This year that they didn't play well but still scored 16 points. And at one point had it not been for the mistakes mentioned in this article, we saw it. They might have scored 24 points and still lost. That's why I'm saying go ahead, take the turnovers away, add 10 points to the score and I say we still lose because that's how bad the defense and the special teams are. They just are horrible...

If that one guy wouldn't change out of the run-to-pass, it would help the defense, but he wants to play hero ball. smh

"I want $60 million dollars per year and nothing is my fault!". Now put that in writing.
Again, the Jones' gave Dak that contract with ample evidence of what level of QB he is.

No matter what someone's stance on Dak is, a player does not become something he is not based on how much money he gets paid. Would anybody here, in Dak's shoes, refuse the contract Jerry gave him and accept less? Feel free to lie I suppose.

Ask old leatherface and ye shall receive. Nothing wrong with taking advantage of a incompetent sucker in negotiations. But where is the book that shows said athlete cannot be held accountable for their performance after requesting such a contract?

Ask Tom Brady that question.

As for me, I want to win a Super Bowl. I think I can find a way to get by on 45 million dollars a year. Somehow, I'll manage. Maybe I'll need to skip meals, and sleep in a cardboard box in the bushes, but somehow I'll make that 45 million dollars a year stretch.

Tom Brady already made his money. He spent like 17, 18 years in the NFL before signing with the Bucs on the "cheap". Made $245 million as a Patriot and that does not count endorsement deals, etc. off the field. Made another $87 million in Tampa.

Dak got his two big contracts and any future deal, no matter where it is, won't approach the current value of what he gets now.

His personal fan bois don't like anything said about their girl but like Al Jarreau once said, "Don't start none, wont be none"

I just wonder if the poor working man that Rayne got fired thinks "nothing is on Dakota?"

Dak has had one -maybe two bad games. I seen all the top quarterbacks suck it up this season. I think some in here think Dak is Jesus Christ. Perfect  Some Dallas fans are just crazy.IMO. Same when we had Romo. Romo or bust.Maybe if your boot leg owner/GM hire better coaches both quarterbacks would of been better. I know the team would of been. Watch Milton win a SB before the Cowboys. I get pissed off at Dak to sometimes. But I know without Dak. This team would be darn near win less the last 10 years. So basically a 10 to 12 win team every year-no playoff wins. Or a bottom of the scrape team like the Browns. Your choice.I look at it clearly from the facts vs the unrealistic emotions.
