Golden Tate: I'd give Jim Harbaugh the Sean Lee special

Has the [URL='http://www.nfl.com/teams/sanfrancisco49ers/profile?team=SF']San Francisco 49ers
-Seattle Seahawks rivalry surpassed Baltimore Ravens-Pittsburgh Steelers as the most intense rivalry in the game?

The ill will between 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh and Seahawks coach Pete Carroll goes back to their college days in the then-Pac-10 Conference, Harbaugh at Stanford and Carroll at USC. Harbaugh has continued to stoke the fire, goading the Seahawks team bus after a smashmouth victory last October.

Harbaugh's recent comments referencing the Seahawks' performance-enhancing drug use raised the ire of cornerback Brandon Browner, who expressed a desire to wring the coach's neck.

Browner isn't alone. Seahawks wide receiver Golden Tate wants a piece of Harbaugh, too.

Asked what he would do if Harbaugh ever lined up across from him, Tate replied, "Well, I'd be on offense trying to score a touchdown on him. Defensively, that's a little different because they tackle and they can really be aggressive. ... But I would try and give him the Sean Lee treatment. I would do that."

This guy and this team are quickly becoming the most annoying bunch in the NFL.

I would be very nervous if I was Golden Tate when they face the boys next time. I am still teed off that no one delivered a shot back at him from the D. This really shows we had no enforcer last year IMO you need that guy on your squad.

Now just Cowboys players but any defensive players who have read that article should be pissed that he is gloating about a blind sided hit on an defensive player and try to flatten his sorry arse.

if their reaction to reading that is anything like their reaction immediately following the play, then nobody will get upset.

guys this type of "bullying" has become commonplace from our opponents the last 5 years b/c of the robotic personality of this team at times (yes, i'm speaking of ware especially). hopefully this changes with some of the new players.

I'd pay hard-earned money to see him try and do that when someone can actually see him coming.

I'm with you on that! The Dallas Cowboys need someone to stop that kind of stuff. But, players like that knucklehead that hit Lee like that, the Cowboys should give some back, and not just take it. :0

And that goes for the whole season, not just one game.

Yeah it was frustrating to see none of the Cowboys even tried to give something extra to Tate after that blind sided hit.

The Seahawks and their fans are seriously among the most obnoxious in the NFL, right up there with Philly - and that's a tall order.

This makes no sense to me. In any level of competition, I still don't know how one can get so excited when getting the best of another player on a blindside hit. I wouldn't feel accomplished at all and if I went all out like he did I'd feel like scum of the earth. I hope he gets his bell rung this upcoming season.

I can't believe I'm about to defend a Cowboys player, but Golden Tate is a tool for saying that. He's acting like he rocked Lee head up, it was a blindside hit.

I am quickly growing a serious disdain for the Seattle Seahawks. This has nothing to do with them gloating about beating the Commanders, even though they were on their way to getting blown out prior to RG3's injury. This has everything to do with their cheating, poor excuse for a role model HC, an entire defense on PEDs, that classless, loudmouth cornerback who even made Skip Bayless a sympathetic figure, and now this dirtbag bragging about a blindside hit.

The only player I respect on that team is Russell Wilson. At this rate, by the season opener they'll be more hated than Belichick and the Patriots

It's called a "cheap shot" for a reason and it doesn't earn you anything but the ire of every other competitor.

I don't see how anyone can look upon the Seahawks favorably right now though. With their unearned arrogance and rampant PED use they should be the laughing stock of professional sports.

Sam Hurd slobberknocked the hell out of Adam Archuletta when Dallas played the Bears in like 2007 and I'd bet anything it was loved by nearly all on this board.

I agree 100%. This guy is a joke. A blindside hit is nothing to be gloating about... anybody can do that.

Tate seems to have forgotten the other guys can hit, too. He seems to be actively seeking a response, and hopefully his wish will come true.

I know I'm in the clear minority on that play, but I had almost no problem with that block. He might have hit the helmet, but, otherwise, he came in low, and square up in Lee's chest, and Lee just didn't see him because he was so focussed on the Wilson. It was a brutal hit, but a great block and, mostly, just football.

I didn't have a problem with it.
