Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant has no ill will toward Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel.
But Bryant, who was suspended before his junior at Oklahoma State for lying to NCAA about a legal dinner with Deion Sanders, said he would be mad if Manziel wasn't suspended for receiving cash payments for signing autographs, as has been alleged in numerous reports of late.
"Hell yeah, I’ll be mad," Bryant said. "I will be mad. But I don’t want him to get suspended. I will be mad more at the NCAA on how they do things. I just feel like it’s not fair. This is something I have no problem talking about because I feel like somebody needs to say something to him and let it be known how they treat people is not right."

Dez makes a good point, and he has a right to comment on the NCAA and how they operate.

Who is this guy? Where did our immature pant sagging jewelry theif first round bust who disappears in the 2nd half go????

Really like the way this kid is handling himself and really becoming a vocal precence in a positive way for this team and other players. He really has surrounded himself with good people and good mentors now and he must respect them and the advice they give him. You can just see how he conducts himself now. Good job Dez very proud of the man you are becoming. If I was Jerry I would feel like a proud papa.

Go Dez! Well expressed, and he's pretty much nailed them. NCAA likes to act all righteous and tough, and then ignores much more serious, systemic problems. And they sure do manage to live well off those guys.

Everything he said was true...He was robbed of those games and that time of his life by a corrupt and greedy company....The NCAA is not an organization. They are a FOR PROFIT BUSINESS...You can add up everything the NCAA does for collegiant athletes and it wouldn't be a 1% of what they make on them.

I sure am glad in hindsight the NCAA suspended Dez because if they did not suspend him, most likely he is not a Dallas Cowboy. Dez would of been a top 5 pick. It might work out for us the same with Johnny Football, because the only way we are going to have a shot at him is if the NCAA takes action and he does not play.

Had Dez not been suspended, and "branded" as a malcontent, he never would have lasted long enough in the draft to be picked by the 'Boys.

this is true but Dez is right, its not like it was dinnerS, it was "a" dinner and to be honest if it wasnt with primetime its wouldnt have been a big deal...but all work out for the good. Dez was a cowboys fan as a kid, he gets to play for his team and wears his mentors number

While that may be true, at the end of the day, for someone who has the passion for football that he does, to be stripped from playing for a year still will leave its mark. Just because the end result was good, doesn't mean that the actual issue is okay.

Anyone, like me, who cant stand the NCAA, should follow Jay Bilas on Twitter. He has just been murdering the NCAA lately lol

Just scroll down to the first week of August or so. Worth the 5 minutes.

Still blows me away that Dez has a dinner with a guy (not an agent) and they take his entire season from him - 10 games.
Meanwhile, other guys are taking money left and right, exchanging autographs for either cash or tattoos, and they've been getting 2-4 game suspensions. wow.
Oh wait - Dez lied. Yeah, ok.

Bottom line is they were going after Dez, trying to make an example out him. How's that working out, NCAA?

Just saying that sometimes fate, or "Kismet" if you wish, takes a strange path. I'm glad it did!

NCAA treats their student athletes for the most part like indentured servants, they say it's fair for them to make a profit because they pay for food and they shelter the athletes (hmmm where have I heard that justification before). They say it's ok because they take away a free education from the college, well to that I'll say this yeah college is expensive but what is basically being said is since they're paying themselves for these players to go to school it's ok for them to restrict them from making money outside of school. Truthfully it's really a freakin' drag that you put in all this work for the university you play at and people can make millions of dollars off of your name and likeness in jersey and video games and under NCAA rules it's illegal to ever see a dime of it.

I agree..but I think he needs to hold the line on this sort of thing..unless he and Johnnie Football are Facebook Friends he needs to not worry about this thing which DOESN'T involve him and move on.
What Dez doesn't need is distraction or to be making them or to be piling on.
I'm positive Johnnie Football can handle this.

Without Dez.

Jay Bilas really drove the point home and it was funny to see NCAA's panicked reaction of removing their search function from their website. Thanks for the info Future

What's funny is that whoever was in charge of covering up their paper trail wasn't tech savvy enough to realize the damage had been done lol
