Garrett's Head Coaching Skills Will Be On Display Now

Ask Jones that. Im sure he could have had a few more practices in mind. Or at least classes, of FILM, or maybe HANG ON TO THE BALL lessons. But the beach thing is clearly having a positive effect when you come out flat against an inferior team.

The beach was in the afternoon dude here in CA we go to the beach late as well. Man looking for any excuse aren't we? Could be that they traveled all over the USA as well HOF game back to CA up to Oakland back down south straight to AZ now on to Dallas. Could be the team is tired? They've played 1 extra game so far.

They played like butt no excuses

You are looking for the excuse of a couple of hours at the beach in the late afternoon

No that's just yet another example of Garrett rewarding guys who have yet to earn it. Big deal they worked hard in camp. They get a paycheck for that not a field trip like third graders

You are ridiculous. It's like debating with a child.

No excuses, other teams have to play that one extra game, other teams hve to do it as well, when they come out flat, no excuse, its not based on how many games you have to play. If they are tired from 1 extra game, i would cut them now. THey are NOT making a 16 game season than. Tired is not an excuse.

It's not 1 extra game. It's the extra week of practice all the traveling. I'm pointing out its very possible we saw some fatigue set in today. But not from hard play from lack of concentration which would indicate mental fatigue. Not like Romo threw and bad balls that should've been picked off or the oline was terrible. Heck the d had a 3-out right off the bat. Dunbar had a freak fumble Harris didn't wrap up and Dez had both hands on the ball till he out his arm down to brave his fall. I would say Orton was just garbage and that's why we saw Tanney right away.

I don't think they were tired.

I think it was a case of 4 guys, Harris, Dunbar, Bryant and Orton not focusing.

I got say I'm not sure I would lump Dez in that. He clearly had both hands on the ball until he was going to the ground and he tried to brace himself and that's when the ball got ripped out. Orton for sure just flat sucked! Dunbar that was a wicked fumble almost blooperish Harris I will agree his first job was to protect that ball. I say that play swing this game right off the bat

The beach had nothing to do with it.

I watch every year at the pre-season games and people making excuses for poor results. Still early, but teams don't usually turn on their offense when the lights come on. This has been a habit with this team. How they play in pre-season is how they play in the regular season.

I wasn't greatly impressed with the starting offense.

6 TO were horrible!!! And I think they pulled Orton because it would've been worse that guy sucks and sucks bad! There was a reason they got Tanney a lot of snaps.

I don't know what game you guys watched but the starting offensive line wasn't bad.

The pass protection was good and Murray only had like 5 rushing attempts... which isn't much to grade the run blocking on.
The starting oline played into the 3rd quarter and were inept at creating running lanes vs the Cards 2nd team defense.

I thought they were playing tomorrow, so apparently, I didn't miss anything exciting...

While I agree I do think Romo looked good and I feel really good about Williams. I think he is gonna be a good one. The oline played pretty good I thought. Also I'm not so sure that Dunbar isn't a better fit for this offense. His speed seems to fit this offense better.

That was one of the worst preseason performances I've ever seen.

LOL!! You must've not watched many preseason games. Starting defense was solid. Starting offensive line as a whole, played decent.

Harris was a plain ole fumble. Dunbar's was a freaky one but still on him. Bryant was a good defensive play although he's still got to protect the ball. Orton is just a plain old bad throw. I've already forgotten the other two. Mostly on the players but the coaches have to stop that now. Don't care who wins as long as they leave healthy and they learn what they need.

The turnovers made it look worse than it actually was.

Tony seemed to rebound after overthrowing a wide open Williams.

The offensive line looked overwhelmed on the frst series, they dominated on the second series.Too bad for the goal-line turnover.

It seemed like the defense was given up lot's of yardage. How did the Cowboys first team D keep them from scoring TD?

I didn't like seeing Garrett and Romo yoking it up on the sidelines at the end of the half.

Dez is about to be a problem!Does Jason Witten still play for us? Maybe they're keeping him underwraps.
