Around here, every week will tell us a lot about the team. Even in a win.

Lose? Have a panic attack, rant and spill your guts on cowboyszone, and then proceed to find the nearest bridge.

I don't think we no-showed against SEA. I think they just clocked us like they did everybody else at home. They were a better team than we were, across the board last year.

Disagree. We played like crap the whole entire game. Straight from the opening kickoff where we fumbled. You have to realize, Seattle did not get hot until December with an OT win against the Bears. Started a 5 game winning streak and 7 of 8 total.

For the first part of that season, they piddled around .500. Going into December, they were just 6-5. Losing to teams like the Cardinals, Rams, Lions and Dolphins. No one thought anything of them.

We played Baltimore on the road much better. So we were capable of much more in that Seattle game. But to the OP's point, that's just who we are. Wildly inconsistent. We played great against the Giants and crappy the very next week.

Gee what a shock coming from you. Promise to come back and admit how wrong you were? The Cowboys (not Cows) may lose but it won't be putting up single digit points and it will be close.

2.This is a bad match up for the Cowboys on the road against a young and quick defensive front. Something the cowboys have struggled against for years(think Tampa last season). Throw in the Cowboys have not been a good road team vs. unfamiliar opponents leads me to believe they'll struggle in this one.If this were a home game I would pick the cowboys 23-17... With the game not being as close as the score indicates.

3. Fredrick Leary and Waters gives me hope that this might be a different Cowboys team!

For an early game, I think this one is pretty big.

Breaking down the schedule in quarters, this is by far our easiest stretch. Going 3-1 or 4-0 early is pretty important.

Games 5-8 are: Broncos, Skins, Eagles, & Lions

Games 9-12: Vikes, Saints, Giants & Raiders

Games 13-16: Bears, Packers, Skins, Eagles

They "clocked" 4 opponents at home and were tested in their other 4 home games even the Rams gave them a battle.

Of their 8 home games, they blew out 5 teams, one of which was in the super bowl the same year.

Two of the teams they didn't blow out were Green Bay (11-5/lost divisional round to superbowl contender) and New England (12-4, lost AFCCG),.

The Rams played them tough in their own house, but seeing how they went 8-0 at home in otherwise extraordinary fashion (and lost on the road to bad 5 teams with losing records), I think it's fair to say that they 'clocked' the competition at home.

Being it is the second game..I expect more breakdowns...

Especially in STs...

With all the new faces and changes..I expect more errors.

One thing I do not understand is all the false starts by Smith on the OL.

And the penalties need to stop.

Just those things could add 7-10 points to the scoreboard and take a lot of pressure off the team at the end of games.

Al Davis sued the NFL and won,but the Raiders were the most penalized team in football until he died. Jerry Jones sued the NFL and won the right to sell his own merchandise, but we the Cowboys' fans lost, hence no penalties for holding Ware and Romo is legally KILLED each time he is hit late unless it is very flagrant. I have been a fan since 1964 and it was not always like this. They may never let us up until JERRY JONES is gone. I sincerely hope I am wrong on this subject...............

They "blew out" 4 teams out at home. They beat Minn 30-20 a 10 point win isn't a "blowout." Beating an opponent is one thing and "clocking" them is another.

The teams that end up competing for the SB each and every year usually win this games without any problems, so yeah, I do agree, this game will tell us a lot about this team and although @KC certainly in not an easy game, a good team with SB aspirations should be able to win it.

They played the Packers right after us and won by 2. Their next home game they beat the Patriots by 1. Dominant in a sense of being undefeated but my point still stands, they were not a dominant team early in the season, home or away.

Remember last year when we beat the Giants in the opener and then completely no-showed against Seattle in week 2? If that happens again then I think it's the same ole Cowboys. But if we show we can take care of business and beat an inferior team on the road like we should, well then maybe Garrett does have us headed in the right direction.

Seattle was better than Dallas (and a lot of other teams last year) and KC is not an inferior team, they are a team that's going to win 9 or 10 games and get into the playoffs in the AFC. A win over them in their building would be huge and tell me everything I need to know about this Cowboys team. But the Cheifs are not inferior they are actually quiet good

Nah. We were in a hole quickly, but it was still only 13-7 at halftime. The second half of that game they just wore us down, ran over us, and beat us physically. That team was 8-0 at home for a reason in 2012. They're not the same team on the road, but that's slim consolation when you're playing them up in SEA. People just want to think the Cowboys are better than they actually are all the time, and then they get mad when they end up disappointed. But we weren't good enough to beat teams like SEA at home last season, that's all there was to it.
