I'm going to say, must Win

about twenty...why?

but i assure you that alex smith is one of the worst i've ever seen.

he makes tony look like joe montana.

Alex Smith has developed into a pretty solid game manager. He's not going to carry you to wins each week but if he has a solid team around him, they can have success. I could rattle off dozens of NFL QBs worse than him in recent years.

And then what? "See what happens".

lol.

I don't know what you are getting at.

My point is, week 3 when every other NFC East team will have a losing record does not equal must win. Not even close. It's not a must win until a loss eliminates you from the playoffs.

alex smith is the only reason we had a chance last week...

Hmm..he is 3-0 and he did run all over our defense. He is doing what he is supposed to be doing, control the game and not turn it over.

every game is a must win, who plays to lose?

If an NFL team is 2-11, then obviously their remaining games aren't "must-wins." In fact, losing may be best for them, the better to get the NFL's No. 1 draft pick.

[X] would be nice to win
[X] a win would put us in good shape early in the season
[X] 2-1 looks WAY better than 1-2
[ ] must win
everyone sing along with me..."one of these things, is not like the other, one of these things just doesn't belong...."

Alex Smith looks better but he's still not very accurate. They can be beat. And we should have beat them.

If they can't win this game than they are not a playoff team.

For that reason it is a must win.

yea...the eagles just got beat by one of the worst quarterbacks i've ever seen play in the national football league.

been watching games since 1975.

Alex Smith
TDS - 4, INT - 0, YDS - 669 , RTG - 92.1

Blaine Gabbert.
TDS - 0, INT - 2, YDS - 121, RTG - 30.8

They need to cut Smith, not sure how is even still in the league

I think he's playing well but he misses too many makable passes for me. If he could throw better on the move then I'd be a lot higher on him.

normally i would agree with the every game is a must win crowd since historically the NFC East has been a very competitive division. This year I'm not so sure..

Not a must win, mainly because the NFC East looks horrible and 8-8 or 9-7 will probably take the division. That being said, our schedule only gets tougher from here on out. We still have to play the Packers, Saints, Bears, Broncos, etc.

To me, a must win is, either you win, or you are mathematically eliminated. Since that is not even remotely possible in Week 3, there is no "must win" scenario this week.

Especially considering the fact that if we lose, we are still tied for 1st place.

After missing the playoffs for 3 consecutive seasons EVERY game should be a must win for Jason & Co. I doubt he survives if we miss them yet again.

It's not a must win, but it's a should win. With Philly's loss last night, we have an opportunity to gain some distance in this division. Plus, we play Denver in a few weeks. If we can't beat Kansas City or St. Louis, then we have very little chance of beating Denver.

i agree with the first part

unfortunately, i think he is here next year barring a complete meltdown by the team, even if we go 8-8
callahan will be the scapegoat this time
