I'm going to say, must Win

One of the worst? How many "worsts" you got going all the way back to '75? Couple hundred ha?

about twenty...why?

but i assure you that alex smith is one of the worst i've ever seen.

he makes tony look like joe montana.

Well, don't forget the Rams is one of our two third place games. The Gnats reward for passing us with their meaningless Week 17 win is a date with the Seahawks, while the Deadskins will take on the 49ers. If we lose to the Rams, we can toss out any advantage we might gain from this....

Not a must win but you really need to win this. You are at home and have a chance to take sole possession of 1st in the East. Yeah it's early and that doesn't matter but any little bit helps.

But the Skins were 3-6 at one point I think last year and ended up winning the East.

The east is terrible this year. It won't take many games to win the thing. So it's definitely not a must win. But I'm sure we will see one of these posts every single week.

yea...the eagles just got beat by one of the worst quarterbacks i've ever seen play in the national football league.

been watching games since 1975.

That seems little hyperbolic.

I can think of 50 without much effort. He 's not even in th bottom 1/3rd now

Anyone who says during Week 3 that a game is a "must win" doesn't understand football.

He is at least better than 10 qbs in the league right now, maybe 15-20. Do Gabbert, Henne, Weeden, Sanchez, Locker, Ponder, just to name a few, also make your list over the last 40 years?

How many times does this happen? Not very often and it won't happen two years in a row.

20? Quincy, hutch, henson, stoerner, leaf, anthony wright, danny weurful, heath shuler, jason campbell, rex grossman, dave brown....etc. I could do 20 in the nfc east since 1997.

seriously?

i took you to be sharper than that.

that loser could not even take a first and ten after the opening kickoff for anything

could not take a first and goal after the muffed punt for a td.. etc.etc.

the defense won that game.

Must have missed the sarcasm..my apologies

I get it that "must-win" is generally viewed as being purely mathematical. But, we could also ask fans this question: "If the Cowboys lose to the Rams at home after losing to KC on the road, do you think they will then beat the Chargers on a west coast road trip, and follow that up with a win at home over Peyton Manning and the Broncos?

I agree. Far too much clinging on the literal meaning of it and now what it actually entails, which is 1-2. Pretty much a scenario most wouldn't have predicted entering a tough stretch.

Well it happened last year. It can sure happen again this year. No one is running away with this thing. So let's see we go 5-7, reel off a couple of wins to get to 7-7. And split the last 2 and finish 8-8. 8 wins could easily be enough to win this division this year.

If we were in the NFC West or AFC West, ok then maybe needing a win badly would be the case. Not the case this year.

And then what? "See what happens".

lol.

I know its early and some will kill me for this but this Sunday is a must win if Dallas wants to win this division.

Phili now 1-2 and going to Denver next wek
Wash can be 0-3 after Detroit game and gets to play Oakland next week
NYG most likely 1-2 but could fall to 0-3cand gets at KC next week

Be a great time for Dallas to jump to 2-1 going to San Diego next week.

I'm saying it, must win.

The reasons you listed are great examples of why it ISN'T a must-win.
