IF, and that's a big IF, the Cowboys struggle the rest of the way and Garrett is forced to be gone, would you want Jerry to replace him with Saban or Sumlin?

Saban would bring credibility but he's Garretts friend so he might not want to come.

Sumlin wouldn't be the best football coach but he'd at least be entertaining. It's better to be entertaining and not be great, than .500 and boring.

Didn't know Sumlin was entertaining..

I'll take the young fella

Saban is never leaving Alabama.

He's going to get a 70 foot golden statue of himself in the center of that school when his days are done.

Doubt he's leaving A&M anytime soon. That said, I'm still mad at Sumlin for leaving UH. lol

And I'm not a fan of Saban.

Neither and I like Sumlin. He brought relevance to the Univ of Houston who needed it badly. But, he has never worked in the NFL as a player or a coach. Think he is ready for his first coaching gig to be with America's Team? I sure don't.

Right now, the season is not done
We are 2-2
Let's see how it plays out

Ok, Let me ask everyone here that wants Garrett gone, who would replace him with? Tomlin is not available, Saban is not available, do not want to leave Alabama, and I do not believe he has any more interest in being an NFL coach at all. Sumlin is not ready, Shaw from Stanford needs more seasoning. We would be wasting even more time if we could hire cowher, definitely would be spinning our wheels with gruden, and any other retread HC. Belichek is not available and I think he is burning out, I actually believe tomlin is burning out.

The best route would be to hire a young assistant on someone's staff right now. Chip Kelly has a foot out the door pointed back to the college ranks, like Schiano.
By the time Chip Kelly can get his type of youngsters to philly his contract will be up unless he breaks it or they fire him before then. He will not have the success in the NFL like he did in college.

It's just like with Romo, who are you going to replace him with? Romo needs to be in an office that the passing game is first, similar to the saints, pats and broncos. We need to stop trying to focusing on forcing the run game and pass to get the lead, and run to kill the clock. Romo's strength is the pass, let him go with it, attack defenses. If he throws interceptions so what, so does aforementioned teams QBs.

I personally don't want Garrett gone. That said, qualified candidates can be found. The question for the JG antagonists is do you have confidence in Jerry picking the right one.

Jerry went through the most exhaustive coaching search I've ever seen him do after Parcells left and he picked Wade. Granted, I know the candidate pool was limited by the time he started; just saying there's no guarantee he'd pick the right candidate..

There is no guarantee but he might get lucky like he did with jimmy

Didn't Saban already try the pro football gig? He welched out of the deal?

The only retread I want to see would be Kubiak. Otherwise, I would rather promote from current actual coordinators, or proven college coaches.

He's still trying to hold it together in Houston with a terrific roster & yet they are struggling.

No Kubiak as HC here.

They are probably killing him in Houston on the radio & tv.
