Neither. My pick would be Bill O'Brien from Penn State. Even then I'm not too sure he is ready for the NFL. Love what he has done in Happy Valley though.

Saban is never leaving Alabama.

He's going to get a 70 foot golden statue of himself in the center of that school when his days are done.

It just depends on if he wants another shot at winning at the highest level of football. Alabama can't offer him that.

Great choice. Great defensive coaches seem to do well IF paired with established quality QB play, and his scheme is similar in structure but summarily different than Kiffin's. Especially at the back end.

IF, and that's a big IF, the Cowboys struggle the rest of the way and Garrett is forced to be gone, would you want Jerry to replace him with Saban or Sumlin?

Saban would bring credibility but he's Garretts friend so he might not want to come.

Sumlin wouldn't be the best football coach but he'd at least be entertaining. It's better to be entertaining and not be great, than .500 and boring.

I know this is just a fantasy post, but I will bite:

Well, let's see: Saban has a bunch of national championships and another on the way.
Sumlin has squat. And what he has achieved can be credited to Johnny Loose Canonball.

Saban has a great college pedigree (figurateively and literally)
Sumlin coached the (always dangerous) Houston Cougars

Gee. A difficult sophie's choice.

SABAN!;)

Saban was a failure and a liar as an NFL HC why his name comes up is beyond me.

Jimmy Johnson as GM and whoever he wants to be HC.

Would never happen though. :(

Right. Jimmy said on A FOOTBALL LIFE he was retired other than the TV gig. He's loving his life deep, sea fishing & entertaining his friends.

Gruden is no retread...He's the one I want.

Gruden is a retread, he has been to 2 different organizations as the HC. Oh, and got booted out of both. Gruden causes a lot of drama. Organizations get tired of him very quickly.

Sumlin's been coaching since 88. I'd give him the job right now as long as he brings johnny too.

Because he is a great football coach. And his teams play relentlessly for 4 quarters every game. He's a winner. His temperment is better suited for college tho

Neither. I would want someone that Jerry is at least slightly uncomfortable meddling with which means I will never get who I want because Jerry won't go Big Tuna again. The season does need to play out but it's justifiable to expect we will be in the coaching market again. Personally, I think we will be 6-10 or 7-9, I will want a coaching change, and Jerry will double down on Garrett
