Sean Lee not mincing words

the defense in SD & Today was a nightmare. 1 punt really?

something has to get better with this defense...I didn't expect them to come out firing on all cylinders from the first snap of the giants game, but I did expect improvement as they learned the new system...the last 6 quarters seems like a regression. But, I am looking to see from this point out...Denver has scored on everyone, so if the D comes up strong against the Commanders, then I will be happy (as long as we win of course)

btw, I like seeing Lee saying something publicly...the entire defense needs to feel embarrassed

We are staring at 2-5 unless the D steps up fast

It is what it is. You can change schemes but you can't have players just all of a sudden play better than they are capable of.

Bring in Seymore and see if you can make a trade. If you can't do it it with the guys you have now try it with a rotation. With the state of the east a right now move would be smart.

"The fact that we weren't able to win when the offense scores 48 points is absolutely unacceptable." - Sean Lee

Let's see if this is the turning point for the D. The D can only get better from here on out.
Let's hope this game turns it around.

Very true, and very blue.

Cowboys are ranked 30th in total defense with 2046 yards and 409.2/ypg. You're not going to win anything in the NFL with stats like that.

That's impressive.

The team made a decision to rely on a set of aging starters in Spencer, Ware, Ratliff, and Hatcher. So far it's been a disaster. Two of those guys are already out for the season, and Ware is battling what looks to be multiple nagging injuries, etc.

They are basically getting what they bargained for. The system is broken and it starts at the very top.

Ding ding ding.

Some of us tried to warn you, but were shouted down with recollections of his work from 20 years ago.

A GREAT quote by ESPN, whom I have very little respect for...but they got this right: "You’ll probably never hear this from Jerry, who made Rob Ryan the scapegoat for 8-8, but there is ample reason to fear that the game has passed the 73-year-old Kiffin by. He couldn’t figure out how to stop Pac-12 offenses at USC, and he’s appeared just as befuddled during his NFL return."

And we are just about to move on to the read option part of the schedule. Fun times.

Speaking of Sean Lee, Cowboys should also play more 4-3 over fronts so Lee can be showcased and allowed to roam sideline to sideline and let the OLBs be the primary cover guys.

Lee is clearly the best LB on the team and he should be playing to his strengths, moving forward rather than on his heels.

even when the brocos go 4 wide how many times did you see bw webb???? the scheme has no real dime matchup package. It relies on lbers to cover wr's

I think that may be why Manning likes the no huddle so much. He is able to dictate which defenders the other team can put on the field? We talk about running a no huddle but the guys that are proposing it always talk about wearing down the defense. I think Peyton is more interested in match ups. Like preventing nickle and dime defenses from getting on the field. Just a thought.

No, no, no...it gets better (same article): The Dallas defense still has to face Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Matthew Stafford and Robert Griffin III twice during the rest of the regular season. That’s an MVP, a pair of 5,000-yard passers and a Rookie of the Year.

pfffhpth, thats all, clearly you are amused by their mean stats that clearly showcase what they cant bring to the table vs this daunted D. I know, people told me Church and Wilcox are awesome. Among others, and i was clearly for Clairborne, because someone threw out shut down corner and i go with every buzz word out there. So clearly i know when other people give me their opinions.

1st.

There are more variances to the 4-3 than the Tampa 2

2nd.

If you ever want a great defense, start drafting pass rushers every year until you find studs all over the line.

3rd

The defense gave up 51 points, and there's gave up 48. Somehow, Denver's horrible defense didn't stop them from winning.

At least this week the usual suspects are finally complaining about what's been one of the real problems with the team, for a change. It's refreshing.

The only downside is them all pretending these were the issues they were most concerned about in the first place. So, it's a mixed bag.
