A win this weekend and the NFC East is a two team race

Not worried about the Skins, and obviously not the Giants at this point.

But the Eagles, I feel, are going to put it together and start winning some games. Hopefully, it will be too little too late. But I think they've got potential.

FYI, none of the NFCE teams will play an "important" game this year. One of them will be served up as playoff fodder for likely whichever NFC west team doesn't win their division.

I don't know how you can say that after we went toe-to-toe with arguably the best team in the NFL. If we make it to the post season anything can happen.

We win this Redsk*ns game and suddenly the NFC East is basically a 2 team race. A loss and all hell breaks loose....

Think about..
0-6 Gaints
1-5 Skins
It's the Boys and Philly left this early in the season

I like this, 2 team race, narrow the field. Then it's just Cowboys and the Egirls. The Egirls will self destruct and the Cowboys can get ready for a playoff run.

Not a two team race regardless of what happens this weekend. At best we will be one up in the loss column vs Washington.

Winning the next two assures us of at least a one game lead on Philly and at least one and a half on Washington. Hardly a race that is "over".

I cant believe this team would be 2-4 if we lose and not take advantage of possibly the worst NFCE in the history of the NFCE. lol

Special sauce right there folks

Yep...

If we lose... It could end up like this

Phil 3-3
Dallas 2-4
Wash 2-3
NY 0-6

If we lose again next week

If could look like this....

Phil 4-3
Wash 3-3
Dallas 2-5
NY 1-6

The fact that in 2 weeks this is possible is just inexcusable.

If the Cowboys don't win the NFC East this year, I will be MIGHTILY upset. I mean, how much easier could it be? Perhaps never has there been an NFC East as easy to win as it is this year.

Next year the NFC East will probably be much tougher than it is this year, so this year is the opportunity, MUST CAPITALIZE on it!

I said it before the season started. If we don't win the East this year and make some post season noise then I never expect it to happen in the Romo and Garrett era.

This is the year to make something happen. We won't be fielding a better team than this team for quite awhile.

If Garrett cant get it done this year, then he is never going to get it done. The odds of the division being this bad again are not very high and the winner is probably not going to be much better than 8-8. If we dont win the division, then Garrett has to go with no questions asked.

As for Romo, its a moot point because he is the QB until he retires after getting over $50 mill guaranteed on that extension. So he is not part of this debate, the only question is if Garrett is going to get fired or not. No playoffs and I dont see how Jerry brings him back, but maybe that is just me.

We should know more after these next 5 games.

2-5 start to the season should just about take care of Redball coming back next year. That is only like 1 game worse than when Wade got canned, werent we like 1-6 or something like that when Wade got canned?

Getting a little ahead of ourselves. Dallas will be just 3-3 with a victory. That doesn't put anyone out of the race.

That would be awful, the 0-6 Giants would still be in this thing, how depressing would that be.

The 0-6 Giants are still in this thing. You'd think we would have learned by now not to count them out until there is no mathematical way for them to win the division.

Technically, yes. However, I don't know if there is a single team in NFL history that has come back from 0-6 to make the playoffs. I would imagine that perhaps less than 1-in-100 teams have come back from 1-4 to make the playoffs.

So while the Giants and Commanders wouldn't be mathematically eliminated, the NFC East would, by just about 95% certainty, become a two-team race between the Cowboys and Eagles.

The East is there for the taking, i am not at all confident it will be us taking it though

We don't win the east. Everybody should be fired and fans should protest by not going to the games!!!!!!!!!!!

Man, we just need to win a game, we have a losing record at this point.

If we have any expectation of doing ANYTHING this year - this is the game we have to win. Doing so, as mentioned, pretty much buries half the division. Losing put's us at 2-4 and right back in with the mangy pack of mutts of the rest of the division. Oh sure, we might get some 7-9 courtesy division win, but frankly that smells like a handful of asteroid and is about as useful.

This doesn't even make sense. How can a NFCE team play in the playoffs and not play an "important" game?

Have the Giants not shown you anything?

Winning the East isn't anything to hang you hat on this year.

True, but what does losing it say?

Seriously, if Garrett cant win the division this year then there is no hope for the guy. He and his entire coaching staff need to be given bus tickets if we cant win such a piss poor division.

Win Game 6, that is all they should worry about right now...I don't care what the records of ANY team are right now

the ultimate long-term goal for me is of course, to win the division, but that the gnats, foreskins and shegirls all win just enough to keep them out of the playoffs and also keep them out of the top 10 (or so) in the draft....
