Anyone else think Jerry goes all out on the D-line and we become a powerhouse? 2 years ago addressed CB, this year o-line, and next year should be d-line. I think the LB and saftey play will improve with experience.

Unlike two years ago I don't think we have the cap space to do it. I don't even think they need to go all out. Might need 2 pass rushers. We can find those in the draft. Tyrone Crawford should also be back.

This team needs Dline and a legit RB to be a complete team. They are young and have talent. They need some experience at safety but as the season goes in I think you will see them gain that.

Maybe.

The biggest questions are:

1. Is Ware done? His base salary is 12.2M for 2014. Would that money be better spent on a healthy Free Agent? They regain all of the 12.2M in cap space but the gains are spread over 3 years. Only about 3.2M is gained in 2014 vs restructuring his contract.

2. Do they try to re-sign the 36/37 year old Waters or draft a Guard early or sign a Free Agent?

3. Can they get immediate contributors on the DLine in the draft?

D-line will certainly be the top priority. But we need guards too, even if Waters comes back. Leary isn't a long term answer, IMO. And assuming Austin is cut, we will need another WR. That is a lower priority though.

Complete team?

Next year - Romo and Witten will be one year older, slower, and less effective. Ware is almost done. Waters is a stop gap at OG. Murray is made of glass.

Our needs next year are going to be huge !!!

Move up and get Clowney.

Yeah right.. Don't give Jerry any ideas. We might not draft in the 1st rd for another 3 years if Jerry thinks of this...

Someone already mentioned it but the Cowboys should try and sign Waters to an extension -- that dude is a true professional and makes it look easy. They will still need to draft a guard early but it will not be critical for him to start if Waters can be re-signed.

D-line should still be the priority in the draft along with trying to sign Spencer to a modest contract. Jerry will have to sit down with Ware and try and renegotiate his salary; his days as a dominant force are over but he can still contribute.

As for the rest of the draft: BPA.

Whoa, we still need help on the offensive line. Waters is just a stop-gap. No depth whatsoever.

Romo can play until he is in his mid-30s. O-linemen can play longer than their counterparts on the d-line so Waters should be ok. He should be good for another year but they still need to draft a guard early in the 2014 draft.

As for Ware and Witten, it can be argued that they have been complimentary players for some time now so continue to build around them until they are gone.

Considering we have a good shot at winning the NFC East, I'm gonna go ahead and focus on this season. Thanks.

Mark it down ... JJ is pickin one of those QBs coming out in the first 2 rounds.

Whether we win the NFC East this year or not. Whether we win in the playoffs this year or not...heck even best case scenario if we go to and win the Superbowl or not...still does not take away from needs this team has going into next year.

This is true...and the needs for next year are obvious. However, I can't fathom thinking about next year until, ya know, next year.

At this point, I'd rather think about next week. The team has a lot more immediate needs than worrying about next year. Because it seems to me the the Cowboys pressing needs for next year, change weekly.

Amen brother!

There are players who will get worse next year which is the part you can't ignore. It's unrealistic to expect Hatcher, Scandrick, Free, and our LG to play as well as they/Waters have in 2013.

You must be a day-to-day kind of gal. ;)
