Is that right? DeMarco is averaging 5.1 yards/carry?

http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/rushing

If so that's near the top of the league for starters. (Is Jennings a starter for the Raiders?)

WIth 5 games left, he needs 73.2 yards per game to be our first 1,000-yard back in a while, which is slightly above his per-game average this year.

the run game was very good on sunday. i'll eat some crow on murray. the team is different with him playing.

I hate how he doesn't finish runs and the o-line still needs some work but I do like the Murray/Dunbar combo esp. when were not really running team.

When our D shows up our running game does too. Crazy.

Aside from the Minnesota game :p

When Murray steps out of bounds: OMG, i hate how he doesnt finish runs
When Murray gets injured fighting for yards: OMG, he's useless! He's gone next year!

Pick your poison

To me, he doesn't finish long runs because he's tired. It just looks that way when he runs cause he hits the hole then slows up getting past the next level.

Is it to much to ask for a RB who can fight for yards and play the whole season?

To all those complaining.. you're not allowed to fight for yards as a RB anymore.

This is your new NFL.. hope you like it.

:)

His running style reminds me of Franco Harris, and I aactually like it. I prefer a Murray who is smart and saves his body rather than an extra 5 ypg. Now if he's going for a first down and leaves the field just short of it, that's an entirely different beast...

Yea, Garrett in his press conference the other day kinda called him out on running out of bounds.......................he was like, "I am not calling him a coward, but....................."

LOL

It's not that we have a weak running game, we just have a very inconsistent one at times, and we tend to abandon it due to this.

Wrong. The only thing inconsistent about our run game this season has been the frequency in which a run play has been called. Garrett abandons the run regardless of time or situation. A guy (your featured back) averaging 5+ yards per game is not inconsistent, it misused and mismanaged. Baffles me how your starting running back avg something like this and people still subscribe to the theory that its inconsistent, when HE is OUR RUNNING GAME.

If we had a CONSISTENT 2 back tandem, that didn't produce them I'd buy into this but we have one back that they have used all season and the others are spare parts that have barely seen the ball outside of 2 games and in one of those games Randall performed well under the circumstances. There has never been a RB in history that always got positive yards on every carry. Not one! But after a couple of bad runs, Garrett has somehow Jedi mind-tricked some fans into thinking we suck at it. Fact is, he sucks at employing a balanced gameplan and used this nonsense as a scapegoat and its unwarranted.

PLEASE DON'T DRINK HIS, JERRY'S, BC'S OR ROMO'S KOOLAID ANYMORE. The run game is just fine and has been all season long when utilized and when I say utilized, I mean actually called upon it more than 14 times in a game.

Nobodies arguing how good our running game would be IF 2 things happened. Murray staying on the field for 14-16 games. Jason allowing him to run the ball at least 15 -20 times a game. Those tow things happen, and we are find on offense!!!

Thats asking alot from Murray.

He's never been able to finish a season uninjured for us yet.

..maybe if Murray gets 875 and the rest of the RBs get 300 more..that would work.

..but we all know we dont tend to run the ball more late in the season.

..we throw it more

..which always spells our losing.

Then when you stop and think we abandon the running game in the second half when most backs really start breaking off some big runs, what would his avg be if we stuck with it.

FedEx Callahan's buns out of here.

Murray is good when he is playing (and when they run him), however, the Cowboys are ranked 29th (out of 32) in the NFL in rushing yards. Probably even more concerning than that is that the Cowboys are 31st (out of 32) in rushing attempts.

The team itself is averaged 4.0 yards per carry -- which is imminently respectable.

IMHO, it's inexcusable that the team is 31st in attempts.

Jim Brown never had a negative run
