IRVING, Texas – If Cowboys offensive coordinator Bill Callahan was hoping the fervor over the Cowboys’ collapse against Green Bay would have faded during the past week, he was mistaken.

Callahan faced a crush of questions about Sunday’s loss to the Packers – from the lack of rushing attempts to the play calls that led to two fourth quarter interceptions – in an arduous, 20-minute interview session Thursday afternoon.

Most notably, the Cowboys’ play caller took responsibility for Tony Romo’s now-infamous decision to throw on a 2nd and 6 late in the game, resulting in the interception that led to Green Bay’s winning points.

“I put that on myself, just because it was built into the play. We can do better. I can do better, certainly,” Callahan said.

At least he has the balls to admit his wrong unlike the coach of the team.

Garrett could not wait to start throwing people under the bus at the post game presser......................a real head coach says "doesnt matter who made the call or who changed it, I am the head coach and I am responsible".

Of course that would actually require balls to do something like that, which we all know Garrett lacks.

It doesn't matter who's calling the plays.

Romo will change it at the line. That's why they pass three times more than they run.

Accountability.
Fall guy.

Does it really matter if that's all it is.... Is "words"?

Man you are so right, kinda like Jerry saying that the buck stops with him, what does that mean? When a GM of another team says that, it means that he knows that the decisions made results in his job security, in Dallas? Not so much.

This

But beyond this, a few weeks back we were told that wade Wilson would be in the box with Callahan and Callahan would call the play in to Garrett who would then relay that to tony

Now, conveniently Garrett groupies are not bringing up that little detail

Laughable

This is on Teflon Garrett

Agree, and this admission by Callahan makes Garrett look like even more of a tool-bag than he did before. I didn't know if that was possible after throwing Romo under the bus on Sunday. They know what they have in the guy, why give him the option to pass at that point?

Exactly..................throwing Romo under the bus was total bush league............if he had a problem with Romo changing the play, then talk to him in the dam lockerroom after the game..........not at the freaking podium.

Still. I think Sunday night or Monday morning was the time for this. Just seems like a planned comment to cover romo this late in the week

I mean I guess its a good thing to see guys take the blame, but in reality, there were a number of people at fault on that pick.

JG, Callahan, and Romo all deserve equal blame, imo.

Callahan was hoping it would fade? LOL.. What a joke. Callahan, you moron.. YOU wouldn't be having to answer any questions like this. Nothing would need to be "faded" IF you just would've checked your damn ego at the door. Along with the HC, and QB and RAN THE DAMN BALL in the 2nd half like the team did in the first half..

What game was this guy watching? The coaches did know that they had a 23 pt lead at the half right?

Man, Friday and this loss still stings.

Nobody changed the play, nobody told him to call a run. As it has been explained a thousand times, that play was designed to be either a pass or a run, depending on the defensive formation. It was automatic.

That is why Garrett throwing his QB under the bus was such a low thing to do. And now this. What a weasel move by our HC.

Ironically Garrett isn't even mentioned in the article. Seems like a game management thing to me.

Really? Seems like an execution thing to me.

Its too easy to blame the playcall when it results in a negative result.
