Jeremy Piven/Akroyd were great supporting characters...and really liked the plot but can't stand Cusack. Same scenario with movie "1408" though Cusack was believable as an arrogant/prickish writer.

There are some Hollywood cougars that still put the youngins to shame:

Halle Barry, Preston, Selma Hayek, Mariska Hargitay (Law n Order: SVU) Pam Grier/Raquel Welch for the older heads.

I was only 15 when American Pie made the term "****" famous so we had a lot of juvenile discussions on dumb stuff like this...
