????????

I did not say no one wants to come here. I said when free agents do come here they more often than not pan out. We have a high track record of Free Agents that just don't work out once they get here.

I think you misunderstood me.

I better clarify this point.

Since Jerry Jones has taken over the team, there have been a high number of free agents that don't pan out. The 2 times that I have seen us bring in a number of quality free agents was when Jimmy Johnson and Bill Parcells was coaching here. Now there are exceptions, as Brian Paint pointed out LaRoi Glover comes to mind. And some would argue about Brandon Carr and Kyle Orton. But for every solid FA player there appears to be a long list of forgettable players that just don't pan out.

I am not arguing that no player wants to come here. If the money is there, the players will play anywhere. That's the nature of the game. Unfortunately, Jerry does not pick players very well and the only 2 times he did was when he had Jimmy Johnson and Bill Parcells in his ear.

Is he really willing to retire? Maybe who knows, but it would certainly also be something I would say if in his position to get my money, especially his final contract money. Get teams competing for my services and also let them know there is a certain dollar amount that's not worth my wild.

These guys have agents for a reason and their reason is to build leverage any way they can, IMHO.

I don't know, Ian Rapoport seems to think so after talking with Allen. He is pretty much set money wise and has a lot of things he loves doing outside of football. Thing is when you say I want this or else you better be prepaired for the else. lol.

We have had some who have not others who have. Thing with FA you pay out big money and so often guys do not live up to it. Couple years ago people here wanted Dallas to pay out big money to Namdi, philly took him and he did not live up to the hype.

Allen has said to a number of media sources he would retire if he does not get the money he wants. He was ready to take a deal in Denver that would have given him 30 million over 3 years (the same deal Ware took). So I would suspect that's what he wants in Dallas.

If we could not give Ware that money, I don't know how we would do the same for Allen.

I wonder what was said about Henson...going off of memory I do remember Bill attending his "pro" day.

Bill to JJ: I just don't see what all the fuss is about this kid.
JJ to Bill: Last time I checked it was me who signed your check.
Bill to JJ: I think the kid has talent let me check with Payton.
JJ to media: Listening to Coach Parcells and QB coach Payton they both feel we just signed our QB of the foreseeable future...

Before I get lambasted about the names, time frame, or any other particular this was just memory here and I am old. :)

This is a true story. Right before FA started they were talking about Allen on ESPN and they even used Bary Sanders as someone Allen looks up to because he left the game on his own terms.

Can't believe St. Louis has stayed bad the last few years... We abused that d-line that's so dominant on paper... Laurenitas and Ogletree behind it. Elite receiver and a franchise QB is more important than posters here think I guess

Not when you have the same system, the only system, they have had success in.

I think there is a much bigger difference between system vs scheme. The scheme of 3 Tech in a Tampa 2 remains the same. The system as far as players put around him to help him succeed is changed.

I agree, I think he will stick to the 30 mill 3 years and I think that will be out of the Cowboys range

So, you are saying he isn't? Huh?

So you're saying he is?

I guess we're all going to have to hope he is, and that Selvie evolves into Ware and Crawford at least becomes as good at sacking the quarterback as Spencer was (although one of those possible JAGs will surely get replaced in the first round of the draft).

FA isn't over, but I don't think Dallas wants to pay what these guys are looking for.

We were just lucky to catch the Rams at the beginning of the year

Not that surprising Melton is still on the market. Pre-Injury tape in '13 is poor, & is coming off an ACL? No thanks. Wait till after draft.

Competitiveness issues very frustrating when watching him play. Should be so much better than he is. Needs strong group around him.

Hmmm... just one man's opinion, but the red flags are really starting to pile up.

Is it true what was reported earlier, that DEN was prepared to give Allen that deal that they ended up giving to Ware as their first preference?

I don't think Allen ends up with Ware money this much later in VFA. I think he's looking more at Peppers' money, at best, with maybe an extra year added on because his level of play has been stable the whole time.
