Ya'll are going to love him. I am a Pac-12 shill, but this is the kid I have seen the most, and minus the games he lost with his injury he would have been taken ahead of Trent Murphy and is a much better football player.

I'm excited about Gardner. If not for the injury, he probably would have been every bit as productive as some of these SDE we were considering in the 3rd round range (e.g. Will Clarke). He has some very good measurable as well.

Looking forward to seeing him in the rotation. I like the heavy emphasis on the DL. It makes sense ... considering what we went through last year. I think we picked up quite a few players who can contribute.

I'm just hoping we have enough to make the playoffs.

I agree. Alot of the defensive selections had similar attributes (plays with chip on his shoulder, very physical). Reminds me of Parcells drafts.

Three-year starting defensive end (and shocking Combine omission) Ben Gardner, however, took full advantage of his opportunity to work out for scouts, recording a 39.5" vertical and a 10-2" broad jump - numbers that would've ranked second and tied for fifth, respectively, among defensive linemen tested in Indianapolis.
The 6-foot-4, 262 pound Gardner also was clocked in at 6.78 seconds in the 3-cone drill and 4.83 seconds in the 40-yard dash. I'm kinda hung on 3 cone drills this week so I looked at D. Wares just for reference and it was a 6.85, not saying he's another Ware but he's pretty agile I guess?
