That term wasn't coined by anyone in the Cowboys front office.

But Ourlads listed him at 274lbs. And he could play inside on passing downs.

The bottom line to all this is to get the #1 technique DT off the field as much as possible. Last season Hayden, who supplied no pass rush what-so-ever, play over 800 snaps.

That can't happen again.

If we had an NFL caliber DL depth chart, Nick Hayden wouldn't be on the team.

When you want smaller, quicker upfield guys who play the run on the way to the QB, you need guys like this for short yardage and goal line defense.

All this talk about is relevant only until he plays
He was productive in a big conference, if he produces, his arm length won't matter

I watched him play his entire career at Stanford. He is a strong, nasty dude. I think we will be pleasantly surprised.

03/26/14 - 2014 Pro Days: Combine-snub Ben Gardner surprise star at Stanford...With solid performances at the Combine, Murphy and Mauro's efforts on Thursday were helpful but not necessarily critical to their grades. Three-year starting defensive end (and shocking Combine omission) Ben Gardner, however, took full advantage of his opportunity to work out for scouts, recording a 39.5" vertical and a 10-2" broad jump - numbers that would've ranked second and tied for fifth, respectively, among defensive linemen tested in Indianapolis.
The 6-foot-4, 262 pound Gardner also was clocked in at 6.78 seconds in the 3-cone drill and 4.83 seconds in the 40-yard dash. These explosive numbers provide quantitative evidence of the athleticism Gardner demonstrates on tape. Like Murphy, Gardner is viewed by some as a 'tweener but he's shown the grit to handle remaining on the defensive line as well as enough fluidity and instincts to operate as a linebacker. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com

I'm kinda hung on 3 cone drills this week so I looked at D. Wares just for reference and it was a 6.85, not saying he's another Ware but he's pretty agile I guess?

Why was he snubbed? 4.8 and a great cone time means he has the tools and isn't some Rudy type. Looks like a players as a SDE but seems rather light @ DT which is where I see the team is moving him.

Tweener and torn pec are the 2 main things that keep poppin up when you read about him. He needed a good senior year to get the attention needed for an invite and it didn't happen for him. He probably should have whored himself out to the media somewhere along the line, maybe gotten a nickname or something.

He's the RKG for Marinelli. Big motor high effort guy who has some talent. Looking forward to seeing him perform. I hope he's a pleasant surprise for us.

You have no idea just how RKG he is. I have a video of him that one friend described as sounding like Garrett's son.

Maybe he can be the next Chad Henning's! Thought I would add a little contribution.

Is the torn pec a non-issue now or will this delay him in getting into mini-camps or training camp.

He said he's ready to go today. Didn't slow him at all at his pro day. In an Interview he did, he was as asked about not being invited to the combine. He was very upfront that he was pretty pissed about not getting the invite. You could tell it's gonna stay with him too. Seemed Very eager to make sure it will be looked back at as a huge mistake to whomever decides who gets the invites.
