So, I went to see Monty Python last night, and the guy sat behind me had flown in from the US to catch the show.

They have said that they won't take the show on the road, and once the last date is finished they won't perform together again.

So I guess the question is anyone on here fans?

Do you think they would sell out shows over there.

I've always thought that they had typically obscure British humour

Their movies surely were popular here...

By chance are they still performing in mid-September? Because I'm flying in from the US to London in order to see the one and only KaTe Bush in concert. Catching Monty Python as well would be, gosh, just swell.

The movies are Cult Classics for many here in the states.

Little know fact. MPFC was first aired in the states on the PBS station, KERA Channel 13 here in Dallas in Oct, 1974. Robert "Bob" Wilson, (Owen and Luke's dad) was the head of KERA who green-lighted the ground breaking show.

I'm super jealous you got to go see that.

It's kind of funny because if you watched tv in 70's the only british TV you got to see here in the states was normally on PBS and it was Benny Hill, Monty Python and Doctor Who.

Hey, thanks, now I have to go all day with that zany theme running through my head. Appreciate it. ;)

The Monty Python series and movies are filled with classic lines, but my all-time favorite was simply, "My brain hurts." I still find myself quoting it aloud whenever I read or listen to something that's stupid.

There is a movie that is not officially Monty Python but still has some of them in it that cracks me up and I love...Yellow Beard.

I have a huge crush on Eric Idle! As he is my favorite Python! Since 1989 as that is also when I got into MP as well.

They would sell out quick, they're legendary and universally loved. Even just a couple days ago, many reviews for Sharknado 3, referenced Frankie Muniz death scene as it reminded them of the Black Knight from the Holy Grail, reduced to just a stump.

My favorite underrated Monty Python line from Flying Circus
"My hovercraft is full of eels."

The Search for the Holy Grail was the funniest movie I ever watched. My favorite scene was the autonomous collective: "Help! Help! I'm being repressed!"
