That our next off season FA Target will be Suh...

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports the Lions are willing to let walk-year DT Ndamukong Suh reach the open market next offseason.

Per Rapoport, the Lions want an "informed" Suh to "sign a deal he’s happy with." It's a bizarre tact, one that would all but assure Suh leaves as a free agent. Players of his caliber almost never hit the open market. It's possible the Lions are simply tired of the Suh experience, but he's an irreplaceable presence up front.

Does anyone have an ESTIMATE of what our cap space COULD look like next year? That dude is going to cost alot off green backs...

If the Lions are tired of the Suh experience, why would you want it in Dallas?

I didn't say I necessarily did...I just seems like the type of FA we would persue..I don't necessarily care for his dirty tactics but he IS a disruptive force

Not 'want' but 'likely to happen'

If there is a stupid decision to be made, you can safely link Jerry's name to it and have a good chance of being right

Honestly, over the last few seasons it seems the mindset of the front office has changed. I don't believe Dallas would pursue him, much more likely he would go to Washington. Haynesworth 2.0.

I hope you are right

I fear that their "prudent" decisions this year were more a function of being cap strapped rather than a change in mindset

I'll pass on Suh, who wasn't even all that even with the luxury of playing with two other top 1st rd picks in Fairley and Ansah.

Do not fear it. Understand them as a basis in reality.

You call that a calling it? Try TKO in the 4th round!!

As to a defensive player this next off season, that is only the most likely move in free agency, right now. There is a better likelihood that the signee will instead be a defensive end. They have been moving freely over the past three seasons, and available in free agency.

Not a bad call, but DE instead of DT...and draft a top DT.

We won't be able to afford both next season assuming Melton has a solid year...
They don't have huge space available in 2015, but they have over 50M of space in 2016. They could push money forward and make it work.

1) You think he got fined in Detroit wait until he gets here.
2) Boneheaded penalties- we got enough of them already
3) We THINK the Cap is going up a lot but we cannot be sure; and this guy is EXPENSIVE.
