IM getting sick and tired of reading about injuries. Sick and tired of these coaches liking the abilities of some players, but are injured. What good is it doing this team to wait and see on ability when they cant stay on the field. The team isnt going to win games on the thought of ability.

Dallas is costing itself waiting on these players. Gardner, Dunbar, Okoye, Johnson and whoever else is injured long periods of time.Guys who havent done anything on the field.

Dallas is strapped with bad depth and lost causes because theyre holding spots for these injured guys.

Thats my rant for this game.

Most of the times when coach say things like that- the guy could be terrible. Professionalism /
etiquette take over and the message is transformed to "we like his abilities" or "he has a great motor" or some other jargon. None of the coaches can come out and say the truth bro.

What also makes me sick is when they say players need more rep for experience. Yet they pull them off after a few plays. Crawford and Wilcox comes to mind. If they need rep why the hell do we pull them out? Why not just leave them in there to get more playing time?

I seriously question why our team has so many injuries. Maybe were being too nice to them. Camp cupcake deja vu. This entire organization needs an attitude adjustment. It starts from the top. Then it trickles down to the coaches. Every year in Dallas is like hearing a broken record of your favorite song. We can't stand the sound of it. But its still playing our favorite song.

I was loathe to weigh in on this topic....because I have given my 2 cents a week ago. So I will keep this short. A lot of the "injured" guys....would have played IF it were a REAL game. Pre-season football might be the worst thing in all of professional sports. I would much rather them have 2 pre-season games....and just start the season already. One of the drawback about preseason....is the body and mind KNOW it is not a real game...and it is hard to get up for them...thus it is EASIER to get injured.

If this team has any chance...it is going to have to be as healthy as possible. They know that...and we should know that as well. So that more than anything is what Dallas is trying to accomplish.

The strength of this team is the OLINE. Hate to sound pessimistic....but I don't think we are going to discover any diamonds in the rough this pre-season. A DeMarcus Ware type is not going to emerge.....a Sean Lee type is not going to emerge....a Jay Ratliff type is not going to emerge. On defense....luck, field position, down and distance, ball control by the offense....these type of football things are the only chance. It kind of reminds me of Parcells 1st year here....when he COACHED a team to a 10-6 record. All 3 phases had to be in sync...and there had to be a lot of luck...because he understood the limitations of his team. After the worst defense in the history of the organization last year...hopefully Garrett has an understanding of what he has on defense...and COACHES the team accordingly. It is what it is...but as the HEAD coach...it is his job to manage the game in such a way..that he HIDES this defense.

So I am not personally all that caught up either way with these pre-season games. Sure, I want to see the young guys get their pads dirty......get used to what getting hit feels like. But other than that, preservation will be key. Because this team is going to have to shorten the game, with a physical brand of football on offense...and they cannot burn out before the season starts. Whether we like that or not....it is the truth. Not even sure how often our "rush men"...or going to get the chance to "rush". If a team can push you around all day...why would they try to beat you through the air?

It boils down to this...I don't care what the woulda, coulda, shoulda's thrown out the window. They better be ready to fight come week one.

Well, Gardner is a rookie and a draft pick, so I think you have to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Dunbar? I don't know, man. Joseph Randle and Ryan Williams looked good. Randle even looked servicable in pass protection.

Okoye was simply a free agency tire-kick signing, so I would have no problem seeing him roll out.

Matt Johnson should just be released. This might be ridiculous, but even on Instagram, during training camp, he never posts pics in Cowboys gear -- always in Eastern Washington gear. Send him back to coach at Eastern Washington. He sure does love his girlfriend, and seems like a nice guy, but I'm over it. He's holding a spot on the 90-man where we could be evaluating another UDFA or FA.

That's not it. I think that despite them telling us that the team has a "world class training staff" - I think the demands of professional athletes now versus in 1992 are different, and that this training staff might be 20 years past it's "world class" label.

Still, plenty of other teams have injuries to key players. Drew Brees hasn't practiced in almost 3 weeks.

Ranting over week 1 of pre season? lol Dallas is not going to risk guys with even minor injury hell some guys with no injuries did not even play in the game it is pre season. Yes some of the pre season games will be slightly more important but week 1 of pre season is not a big deal.

I just find it curious why it seems like most other teams I saw (not a huge sample size) played most of their starters (except Brady from the games I saw) at least one series. We went up against SD's ones, I saw Peyton Manning playing, but for some reason our guys are too good to play in the pre season? You would think with Linnehan and Marinelli implementing relatively new schemes our guys would need reps. And in reading Fuzzy's defensive synopsis, it seems like they put guys in a position to fail for the sake of evaluating. While I understand that, I also would think you would want to let the guys build a little confidence before you tear them down. Especially on the heels of being the worst defense in the league.

Tons of guys didn't play in the first preseason game.

Why would you watch it for a third time? Just forget it, you will feel better.

Most injuries are defense and I don't think this is by chance, but by lack of competition. These guys have figured out that they can milk their injuries without fear of losing their job.

Look at Leary, his hammy got a lot better seeing Berry doing well at left guard. In past years Berry and Livings milked their injuries knowing that thy had already been handed a starting job.
