1. We get excited about players getting signed to the practice squad, or dissappointed when a player like Mitchell goes to Chicago's PS; however, in reality if the Cowboys want to move a PS guy up the the 53 at any time, it's just as easy to sign a guy from another team's PS. They could sign Mitchell from Chicago's PS as easily as they could sign him from the Cowboys' practice squad.

2. OG Hawkins signed, OT Wetzel cut

3. CJ Spiller in, Dixon to be cut

4. LB Toomer to be signed, D-Law to IR-return on Tuesday

5. DE Jack Crawford to be signed, Broaddus says it's a rumor.

I wonder why Mitchell would favor Chicago ps over Cowboys ps ? With our cb situation one would think he would like to stay here.

The situation where one of our starters returns after suspension Week 4, therefore making him basically #7 on the depth chart behind Pellerin?

Kind of disappointed they cut Dixon. He looked to be a good STer, at worst.

Well he wasn't going to suit up since he is ps. But there is a good chance he would be call up. Dallas is the team that gave him the chance and knows him. To go off to Chicago like makes me feel iffy. If he stay here most likely it is guaranteed he will at the least be o the ps for the year. Did Patton make the team?

I would think Crawford is a rumor because he can't be signed until Lawrence goes on IR-return. Don't think we've made our Toomer cut yet.

That would be a lot of DEs if they sign him.

Selvie
Mincey
Crawford
Wilber (Nickel DE)
Lavar Edwards
Spencer (out for game 1)
D-Law (IR-return)

I like these bottom of the roster moves, it shows the overall talent level is getting better. I went back to look at the opening day roster for 2012 to compare against the guys we just cut:

That year Nwaneri made the roster, his name was Derrick Dockery.

Mitchell made the 2012 team, his name was Mario Butler.

Dixon made that team, his name was Mana Silva.

Wetzel made it, his name was Ryan Cook.

Will Smith was on that team but his name was Alex Albright.

It isn't sexy for fantasy football teams but it is a definite sign that the team is getting better.

That's the biggest issue. Who do you cut?

I would assume with Spencer and Lawrence out that we want to carry four others. Crawford would give us five others and I don't see Selive, Mincey and T. Crawford being cut. Edwards would be a surprise, too, since he just arrived, and Wilber is the starting SLB.

Listening to Cowboys Radio right now, Bryan Broaddus has heard whispers at Valley Ranch that CB Terrance Williams left the team with a bad attitude.

He was tired of being yelled at by the coaching staff and simply wanted to go somewhere else (Chicago practice squad).

On a side note, Mickey Spagnola doesn't expect Anthony Spencer to play before week 4, at the earliest.

I don't know. We might just be hopeful.

This year's Dockery might be Hawkins.

This year's Butler might be Patmon.

There are plenty of players on this team that have a good chance of just being JAGs we look back on, and I'm not sure the top of the roster is that much stronger anywhere but offensive line.

But its a better caliber of JAG!!! j/k...

That's what makes me question if it is true.

The SLB will be off the field in the Nickel Defense. The Cowboys played Nickel 61% of the snaps last season. That means that Wilber can be the starting SLB and still be available for approximately 61% of the snaps at DE.

you did go back. An when injuries happen...like they did in 12 and 13 the bottom rises up the ranks a bit and newer bottom feeders are signed off couches and from under stairs and bridges. It can get very ugly.

Holy *&^% where do you get these facts. Thats a lot of nickel. I think that if the Cowboys play Carter at SLB that he should get some DE reps as well in the nickel.
