Great Win. Still No effective pass rush

We really need someone to rush the edge. my opinion, Sam gets called up this week.

It's going to be a problem when this team plays elite passers. Lock and Kapernick are bad to average, respectively.

It's hard to tell by these 2 games. They had lots a pressure and the two QB we played are not great passers but they are very athletic QBs who can elude the rushers.

Some of the almost sacks we had would have been sacks with less athletic QBs.

We're getting more pressure, so far, than I'd expected. We don't have enough edge talent to get a lot of pressure this season. But that was a good OL we were getting some moderate push on today, at least.

We had some almosts against Kap last week, but Locker's pocket was pretty clean today, particularly in the 2nd half when we should have been able to tee off. Luckily, he sucks.

I have to go back and rewatch the game but I thought I saw an almost sacks few times (Wilber or Carter?) .

There were two sacks, McClain and a half/half with Melton and Wilbur. Carter got pressure once on a blitz when he came in completely unblocked.

Other than that Locker did not have much pressure to avoid. Certainly not as much as Kap last week.

hopefully lawrence gets back as soon as possible...

i do think the titan's o-line deserves some credit..

locker was really off in the first half...that was a big factor in today's win..

I timed almost every snap with a digital stop watch...we really got some quality pressure. Finishing plays was more of an issue. Not exactly the 85 Bears...but the pressure was there today as we were forcing Locker to throw consistently under 2.4 seconds.

This defense as a whole is a lot better than I thought it would be. Hope it keeps going up.

Interesting. I saw a lot of clean pockets- especially in the 2nd half, but I defer to your due diligence on this.
I'm sure some of our esteemed posters will pick this apart through the week with the all-22 video.

I will be looking forward to them.

There was pressure pretty much all game. They were moving the pocket. It's night and day compared to last year. It's not great, or even really good, but it's certainly what I'd call sufficient given what we're working with.

Yes not as much as last week but I don't remember seeing Locker sitting back there eating a sandwich before throwing like many QBs were doing last year. We made him move around the pocket most of the game.

I agree this pass rush has more work to do. Dallas got some pressures and 2 sacks on the game but there is room for improvement. I think as this unit continues to play with each other we will see better
