Great Win. Still No effective pass rush

At this point we've needed to also bring a LB. Carter and McClain are good at getting to the QB it looked today.

However you don't want to consistently go that route.

Trust me, we're not showing much of our looks right now on defense.

When Spencer gets back that will be a huge boost. Lawrence situation-ally for some speed.

It seems like we are holding up well at the point of attack. We are doing better than I anticipated with our run defense.

Hopefully we can get Lawrence and Spencer back and get some better play off the edge.

Is Crawford at a 4-3 DT? He's as strong as an ox.
We need speed on the outside to complement his power.

Couple things...for one the Titans have a good Oline, and for two, it's not like Locker was sitting back there in 5 step drops. He was getting the ball out pretty quickly.

I'm mostly interested in how Melton did. I saw a few plays where he manhandled his assignment, but it seemed fairly inconsistent. Also, I had been drinking.

I'd be very interested in hearing others' opinions. He's going to be a big question moving forward, as the option in his contract is incredibly expensive.

It's going to be a problem when this team plays elite passers. Lock and Kapernick are bad to average, respectively.
Effort was their but sacks and in your face hits were hard to be seen from my viewpoint. If this team can't do that then elite passers will eat up this secondary when we play them. The pockets were pretty much clean all day for the Titans qb. If not for his accuracy problems this game may have been decided differently.

The Niners and Titans might have the two best O-lines in the league. The Rams have a lot of talent on their line but I don't think it's gelled yet.

The Rams better get ready to stare at Murray's *** all day. He and that O Line are on a mission.

Edit: I can't say ***?

all day."

Pass rush can be better but Kaep probably escaped two or three sacks last week because of his mobility. All in all this is a much improved defense and with bodies getting healthy and some other guys shaking off rust I suspect it will be better.

So far I am pleasantly surprised with the pass rush and I expect it to get better as Melton, T. McClain shake off rust, Selvie gets healthier and we hopefully get some good news with Spencer and later on Lawrence and maybe even Brent.

The pass rush was about average today, but average is great when your DL is hot garbage.

If like to see Sam get a shot. I think his unique situation makes him that much more determined.

I timed almost every snap with a digital stop watch...we really got some quality pressure. Finishing plays was more of an issue. Not exactly the 85 Bears...but the pressure was there today as we were forcing Locker to throw consistently under 2.4 seconds.

Remember the Titans are the ones that have been investing heavily in their o line the last few years.

We really need someone to rush the edge. my opinion, Sam gets called up this week.

why do you think he would any good at it? because of preseason? he got cut. nobody signed him except us and we know the state of our defense.

give me a break on Sam

Haven't heard a peep about Spencer for a couple of weeks. Wasn't he supposed to be ready by game 3 or 4? If not, we've wasted a roster spot for him.
