Mike Fisher | @FishSports

IRVING, Texas (105.3 THE FAN) – If you want to a) attempt to do the impossible with ‘retro-math,’ b) drive yourself nuts, and c) come across as a spoiled Cowboys fan, by all means focus your takeaway from Dallas’ 26-10 win at Tennessee on all the money being “wasted” so Tony Romo could drive that run-first bus....

Sorry, but who's complaining that Romo should throw more? I'm not getting what Fisher is trying to complain about.

The fact is, this is all Romo is capable of right now. He can't get the ball downfield, and he's very reluctant to move in the pocket.

The question remaining is if Romo will strengthen and return to form, or if this is the Romo we see from now to the end of his career.

Says who ????... I guess that would be our lying eyes:rolleyes:

Everyone will love the run first, Romo bus driver stuff until we are facing 3rd and 6 with a minute to go and a four point lead; we run the ball into a cloud of dust for two yards, punt and an opposing QB goes straight down the field and we lose, a la New England 2011. Then it will all be about how Garrett is afraid to allow Romo to throw it with the game on the line, we paying 100 million for a bus driver who can't be trusted to seal the game, etc. etc.

Dallas faced that in this game with a 3rd and 15 late in the game and Romo rolled out and threw a perfect strike to Dez for the 1st down.

You realize you leave yourself open for the first and ten with the ball and the chance to kick the winning field goal and Romo throws into double coverage with a linebacker sliding over for the pick, right?

Can someone please tell me where I can find that play? I was watching on line and of course my screen froze up during the most crucial time of the game. Everyone keeps referencing this "perfect" pass and I'd like to just judge it for myself.

You really should have watched the game. He made several good throws to convert third downs at clutch times in the games. If he wasn't capable of that we might have lost.

Man we play one of our best games in all areas in years and there is as much whining as ever around here.

Funny how he team is being more balanced and less Romo-everything but the fans can't let it go...

We need more explosive plays. With this run game, Romo should at least be able to take advantage of the defense 1-2 times a game. I think we had a couple of opportunities last game but pass pro didn't hold up. The hit he took to the back when Witten couldn't block his blindside was about to be a long TD pass to Dez.

You let us know when that ever happens.

Until then, save it.

3rd Q, 3:41 mark.

I think we will see a different Romo from here on out as long as the o-line and Murray remain healthy. We will see a Romo who no longer has to carry the offense on his back but will be called upon to make plays when necessary.

If that is considered (by Fishy) a waste of money then so be it.

except in 2011 the oline was atrocious. it'd probably be 3rd and short if it even got a 3rd down that late in the game with this oline.

right now, this team needs to pound and pound and pound some more with the rock. romo is not healthy. we have a top 5 oline and a top 5 back. as mr. lincoln said "we must use the tools we have"

I would leave myself open for that possibility when the truth is it hasn't happened that much and his comebacks are second only to Manning so I'll take those odds. His INT rate is pretty good and if I remember right and I do, he didn't have any problems against the Giants and Washington in back to back weeks last year to win division games on the road. I don't understand what everybody is getting at here - surgery or not. If Romo had to put together a game winning drive with two minutes to go I haven't seen any evidence he couldn't do it. The quick outs, the slants, the screens are all there.

I get there is no evidence of a deep passing game so far but how often are defenses going to give up a 40 or 50 yard play in two minute situations? It's week three, he was better in week two than he was in week one and until I see differently, I expect him to be better in weeks three, four, five and six.

romo has done excellent for us, but we need to be a ground oriented team now.

The team won by 16 points on the road.

I have no problems with any lack of "explosive plays".
