We don't have a good enough defense to be conservative on offense

Linehan needs to stop relying on the run as the staple of this offense, especially with Murray fumbling.

This team isn't great at consistently overcoming mistakes, nor is the defense good enough that we can play conservatively on offense, nor is the offense able to take care of the football well enough to play this type of game.

7-8 times out of 10 we lose this game.

I get what your saying, but I still think keeping the D off the field as long as possible is our best chance against the better offensive teams. Having a good run game is our best chance for that. Especially considering Tony is still not 100% back from his injury. And the fact that Free is going to get him killed if he drops back to pass too much!:(

I like the amount that we're running. My problem comes with how predictable we ended up getting. How many times do we need to run it on first down? Mix it up. If not for the fantastic O-line, I have a feeling our offense would have been eerily familiar to some of the performances of the past. This more balanced offense actually removes some pressure off of Romo since he doesn't have to air it out 10,000 times.

I would have liked to have seen 2-3 more passes in the 2nd half instead of runs on 1st or 2nd down. Romo had to convert some 3rd and longs because we were being so conservative. Other than that, I thought he called a good game.

He is a much better play caller than Garrett.

Until Romo is closer to 100% I understand why he is doing it. Romo was able to make some really nice plays today, hopefully he gets even better
as the season goes on and we can open up the offense more. Right now what they are doing is working......

I like to see a 50 50 ratio.

Any one is.:)

our run plays are sort of predictable or we are doing something which gives them away.the rams were all over it early.

Our D looks a lot better with McClain in there.

But to your point, that is the other side of the "let's keep sticking with the run!" argument that most people don't consider.

The thinking is that running the ball a ton will keep the D off the field... well, not always. A successful conservative game-plan is one where punting isn't necessarily a terrible thing because you have a strong D you can rely on to get you the ball back. So as long as you don't turn the ball over and play the field-position game, you're in good shape. But when the D isn't getting stops, that strategy must be altered some.

With Romo finally starting to look in game shape, I too would like the team to open up the offense a little more again, now.

I know what you're saying and I don't disagree but I think the reason we've been fairly effective on offense is because of the running we are doing. If go to a bad consistently bad run/pass ratio I just don't think the offensive will be as effective.

It's looks that way with 8 or 9 in the box along with some run blitz. The fact we could run at all is testimony to the OC, OL, and RB as well as at times receivers.

We need to take more chances on defense.

We made Austin Davis look like a young Tom Brady by getting no pressure and playing soft as tissue coverage.

That will not cut it against any good QB much less a scrub.

Mainly, I'd like the team to stop running on almost every first down. It's gotten beyond predictable.

True but that kid ain't no scrub.

we have a qb that has a knack for making the bonehead turnovers like today. I like the way that we are running more to limited some of tony romo turnovers. I just wish that murray would get his head out his butt and hang on to the ball. without his mistake we could have won this game by ten points or more.

St Louis ran a lot of run blitzes which made it tough to find running lanes. And they're pretty talented up front. We may see more of that but every team will not be as aggressive as we saw today defensively. I'm fine with the playcalling
I would like to see more of Dunbar to provide a different look but they seem hesitant to use him.
