We don't have a good enough defense to be conservative on offense

You take games individually. Teams sometimes gameplan to take something away from you. The Rams tried to stop the run and were, honestly, pretty successful. You win football games by having successful plays on both offense and defense. If running the ball is working you keep running, if its not you need to pass.
I don't care what the ratio of run/pass is in a single game, as long as its working.

We have seen time and time again what happens when Romo tries to do too much. Running the ball limits Romo from taking on too much, he's just not that good...

I don't have a problem with how much we are running just that we seem to be stuck in run, run, pass mode. I would prefer to mix it up more on first and second with more play action passes. It keeps the defense off balance. It is much harder to stop a team when you don't know what they are going to do.

Let's see how he does when he plays teams that don't allow him to play the check down game all day.

Very few teams if any cah stop that. P Manning has made a HOF career out of getting the ball out quickly and underneath. If you can matriculate the ball down the field like that and score you will be good as well as set up a lot of other options.

I agree that you can but the Cardinals, Seahawks, and 49ers aren't going to let you do it like the Cowboys did today.

That was no pressure pitch and catch football for Davis.

Shaun Hill and Sam Bradford and just about any other QB with a pulse could've done just as well.

Yes we are doing that too much.

He just didn't do that but I understand your point.

If Romo was 100% I agree, but I defintely like how we're running it more this year. I think it's a better 'problem' to have than being pass happy at times like last year in GB, that was such an epic failure.

I would argue that the ability to be conservative has nothing to do with the Defense. The better the offense is, the easier it is to be conservative. If you are talking about go for it vs punt on 4th and inches on the opponents 40, sure don't be conservative. But when you start the post off complaining about running, I can't agree. When the defense sucks, you want it off the field. Running the ball doesn't have to be conservative, and is necessary to open up the defense for taking shots.

Linehan needs to stop relying on the run as the staple of this offense, especially with Murray fumbling.

This team isn't great at consistently overcoming mistakes, nor is the defense good enough that we can play conservatively on offense, nor is the offense able to take care of the football well enough to play this type of game.

7-8 times out of 10 we lose this game.
I see a lot "ifs" being thrown around, I love it, it must really hurt to secretly hope for a loss and get a win instead.

No, we don't have a good enough defense to not convert on third downs and keep the chains moving. We don't need to go back to 70/30 pass in order to put up 30+ points, just keep making those third downs short and managable and you can be a run or pass team as you choose to dictate as opposed to having the defense dictate it. Keep the balance and get positive yards on 1st and 2nd down and the below average defense won't hurt you too much.

Eli just falls down like a wet rag under pressure. Two rings lol

But he's clutch and wins when it matters most. :D

Running is going to be Dallas' best option until Romo is banging on all cylinders, or at least banging on as many as he has left.

The more Dallas defense is off the field, the better. Running allows Dallas to shorten the game.
