We don't have a good enough defense to be conservative on offense

Linehan needs to stop relying on the run as the staple of this offense, especially with Murray fumbling.

This team isn't great at consistently overcoming mistakes, nor is the defense good enough that we can play conservatively on offense, nor is the offense able to take care of the football well enough to play this type of game.

7-8 times out of 10 we lose this game.

I think you have it backwards. Your'e way off.

This offense is just fine featuring Murray and Dez. We don't need to throw just to throw, running and run blocking is the strength of this team and has been for last 2 seasons. Any game plan that has Romo passing less than 30 times (healthy or not), is a great gameplan. And while we're at it, this team is twice as good under center than in shotgun.

The running game struggles sometimes because as other have mentioned, it is very predictable. We run primarily out of a single back set, either with the back deep or lined up next to Romo for a draw. If we motion the tight end there is probably a 75% (if not more) chance we run to his side. We don't use enough play action to mess with the line backers, so they get to set back there and keep everything in front of them. I for one have thought for many years that our scheme is the problem - we don't scheme enough on pass plays. Other teams use formations and routes to isolate a couple of WRs to get them open. Many times I watch all our guys run the same route across the field - often not even crossing to confuse the defenders. Or the WRs look like they're running a high school offense in which one guy runs an out, another a curl, and another a post. If that is happening we are relying on our guys to beat their guys one on one. Why not help them out a little and scheme to get someone open???

Anyway, I was dropping the **** Bombs right and left in the first half, taking turns dissing Claiborne, Romo, Linehan, and Murray (whoever was the flavor of the moment). By the end of the game I was cheering as we seemed to pull our heads out of our proverbial *** and made a game of it. I have to give the team props for pulling - it was a team effort in the end and everyone contributed. Sometimes I have to remember I'm just an armchair quarterback and what I think really doesn't matter...lol.

If you look at how we started this game, you can see it is a problem.

We couldn't score on the first three drives of the game, and the mistakes ended up putting us behind the eight ball for most of the game.

The conservative play on offense at the end of the game nearly cost us the whole thing.

I'm not saying we should run much less, I'm saying we need to set up the run by establishing the pass, rather than forces our way through brick walls every play.
