RVING – Morris Claiborne made the g interception that sealed the Cowboys’ 34-31 victory over St. Louis on Sunday. But while Claiborne’s timely takeaway helped preserve Dallas’ lead and reduced the foulness of an otherwise terrible performance by the cornerback, it didn’t necessarily save his job.

When asked whether Claiborne could be benched before Dallas plays New Orleans next Sunday, Jason Garrett didn’t dismiss the question.

“We’ll determine how we’re going to play guys as the week goes on,” the Cowboys coach said Monday.

On Sunday, Claiborne was targeted seven times and allowed five receptions for 108 yards and two touchdowns, according to ProFootballFocus.com. He was responsible for surrendering the Rams’ two longest completions and missed a tackle on St. Louis’ most productive running play. The passer rating against him was 113.7.

“Mo was just in situations in yesterday’s game where he was isolated by himself and they made good throws and catches against him,” Garrett said. “His technique on each of those plays wasn’t perfect and they had success for different reasons on each of those plays where he got beat and he just needs to continue to learn and grow and develop as a player.”

Until he made the interception, Claiborne said he thought he “pretty much stunk it up.”

Jason to Jerry: we want to start Moore and sit Claiborne, Jerry to Jason: Jason do you know what we gave up to get Morris?

Jason's response should be: We are starting the player that gives us the best chance to compete, Morris will have to earn it in practice.

Jason's actual response?

MO is almost Reeves/Alan Ball status. Please sit this bum before he turns out to be our Achilles Heel

Oh my..

Mo has made 2 game-winning plays at the end to seal the last 2 victories.

Bench him?

Oh my..

the guy is finally starting to positively effect games..

and he should be benched?

I like Scandrick..

But with all the multiple WR sets..

we are fortunate to have 3 guys

if you get burned for 99% of the game and play good for 1%. you still stunk. if I sucked at my job 99% of the time, Id be fired.

Jimmy would have benched him at the half for Moore & Patmon.

That being said, Jimmy would never have drafted him in the first round.

Credit does need to go out to those who found Moore & Patmon.

If the guy has avg. speed, he must be extremely smart.

Just saw where Sean Payton benched his number one corner, Patrick Robinson, a first round pick for Cory White, a 5th round pick this past week.
You play to win the game.

What has Patmon done so far?

Laugh or cry I can't decide.

Jerry to Jason: Didn't you see that INT yesterday? Weren't you entertained? I was. You need to apologize to Mo. Now shut up and get me that glass of Johnny Blue on rocks.

Jason: ... yes sir!

If Mo gets benched for a person who is outplaying him I will shed no tears. Is it Mo or the scheme??? I do not know but if a player can not understand the scheme and a player with less pedigree does???? I have zero problem playing the player who actually gets it!!!!!!!!

I would bench him..

Let him feel what it's like to not be given something and see how he responds.

There's no better way to put it. He just looks lost out there. He never jams his guy off the line. Gives a free release and is playing catch up the whole time.

I didn't know Mo was seeing the field because of his draft status. If that's the case then he needs to be benched. I personally don't think Moore would do any better in that role but maybe a benching is what Mo needs. He shouldn't be babied. It will do him no favors.

There is no way Red will bench Mo this week. What he needs to be thinking about is getting pressure on Brees.
