Could Morris Claiborne be benched in favor of former undrafted player?

There is no way Red will bench Mo this week. What he needs to be thinking about is getting pressure on Brees.

What? You really think that Garrett is thinking about how to put pressure on Brees? If he wants to win he would put in Scandrick and Moore can be watch the slot.

Oh my..

Mo has made 2 game-winning plays at the end to seal the last 2 victories.

Bench him?

Oh my..

the guy is finally starting to positively effect games..

and he should be benched?

I like Scandrick..

But with all the multiple WR sets..

we are fortunate to have 3 guys

1 good play does not absolve 50 snaps of sucking...........................even Moose Johnson on the broadcast said the Rams were intentionally targeting Mo.

Mo got 1 pick and was abused the rest of the game and gave up 14 points..........................He cant have him on the field against Brees if he is going to play like that , you just cant.

YOU are too caught up in stats.

It's playmaking and coming back from losing.

That's all that matters.

Wins..

Stats are for Fantasy Footballers.

I want plays and wins.

You can figure out the rest.

It's pure fantasy to think that Moore will be bringing something Claiborne wont... maybe better tackling, but he's going to be getting spanked in coverage just as, if not more than Claiborne with the lack of pass rush and safety play.

Cry all you like but Mo will be playing. Brees has beat better corners and better secondaries for that matter. If Garrett remembers anything from the time that he beat Brees it should be that we had constant pressure and hits on Brees, including 4 sacks, making him fumble twice and throw a pick. Collapsing the pocket and getting Brees out of any comfort zones that he has will do wonders for our DB's.

Why would I cry if Mo plays? I could care less. Im just stating the obvious that QBs will be targeting him because he is the weakest link in our defense. The Rams rookie QB had a rating of 115 when they passed against Mo. I can't imagine an elite QB like Brees will do to our defense with Mo.

Lastly, Garrett did no beat Brees. It was Wade Philips. Garrett had nothing to do with our defense then. Please give credit to where its due.

Mo did not have a good game and they (the rams) knew he was their patsy...that being said, I can't see him being benched this next game...the real question is how to apply pressure to the opposing QB to help out the secondary....

Excuse me, JG was the OC. But he should still remember how the formula works. No slight on Philips was intended.

JG was the OC. But he wasn't the coach and he was in charge of the offense only. Defense won it for us that day. I just don't think our defense in this day and age is going to hold up against the Saints offense. They will target Mo because he is our weakest link.

No excuse for Mo, but every one of our DB's is suspect. We may need a coaching change there. I think Wilcox could be the one that could hurt us later in the season. But if you only pressure Brees six times you are gonna lose with Deion and Revis at the corners.

And as far as the defense winning that game JG's offense got up 14-0 on the first two drives and held that lead the whole game.

How about all the losses he helped earn us. He has been burned so many times it's not funny. Do you think maybe the other 52 guys had something to do with the victory? For every one play he makes, there are 20 he fails at.

Yup. Mo was suppose to be the next Deion.... The only thing you can compare is there tackling ability... Mo gave up the TD in the titans games cuz he can't tackle.. And he just looked like a pansey in the rams game.. Kept pointing fingers at the safteys.. He sucks its time to move on.. Do you see how slow he is?

My take:

Mo isn't jamming and when a dline doesn't get pressure on a consistent basis there is no disruption of timing and receivers will continue to be hit in stride.

I'd rather see a pick to end a poor performance and seal a win vs a GW TD allowed after a great performance.

Mo needs to step up though. When a team moves up to get you 6th overall, you need to make that move look like a smart one.

Solution:
Have him jam on every snap and jump some routes. Take some risks!!! If you're playing 8 yards off you better anticipate a quick pass and jump a few of them.

Just my two cents.
