ARLINGTON (105.3 THE FAN) – I had a chance to visit with Dez Bryant in the locker room following the Cowboys 20-17 OT win against Houston. We discussed several things, but I thought his approach to the Seahawks game was definitely worth revisiting.

Me: “Have you looked forward to Seattle? Have you thought about Richard Sherman?”

Dez: “It’s gonna be a lot of fun, man. Sherman is arguably the best corner in the game and I know I’ve got to prepare the best way that I need to prepare for this challenge. I can’t wait. I love challenges, so hey, I’m ready to go.”

Me: “Is it fair to say that the old Dez might’ve jumped in here and talked trash to get a little something started? You seem to have matured significantly. I don’t know if that’s fair or unfair, but it seems that way to me.”

Dez: “I’m not gonna talk trash at all. I’m just gonna go out there and battle, because I’m gonna have to battle. [Talking trash] is something that I grew out of… but if you talk smack to me, you best believe I’m coming full force.”

Me: “But it’ll probably stay out on the field, though, right?”

Dez: “Oh yeah. It’ll stay out on the field. Much respect to a lot of those guys in Seattle because I know a lot of them. But Sunday, we’re gonna have to play.”

Is there anyone here who doesn't want to see Dez and Richard Farrakhan on an island inside the red zone? Just as a fan of the sport this is the kind of matchup you love to see

Yeah I wonder who would win on a jumpball, my guess is Bryant but you never know

I enjoyed the JJWatt/T.Smith battle last week. I'll enjoy a Sherman/Dez match up this week. I would love to see the game come down to that. Two great players with the game on the line. That's what it's all about.

I don't feel like Dez has really every been much of a smack talker. The media blew up what he said about Megatron, but it really wasn't a smack talk session.

Hello. Dez has an unwarranted reputation. He answers questions then the questioners turn his words against him. Sadly, a lot of people buy into that crap.

There were a ton of reports during training camp about how he and Witten were the biggest trash talkers on the team.

I do agree what he said about CJ wasn't track talk, but more of a expression of confidence.

I guess I should clarify; he has never taken it to the media. He may talk the game on the field, but that isn't the same. Putting it in writing through the media is very different.

I see right now I'm going to have to stay away from these Seattle vs Dallas threads because it's not going to end pretty.

Seemed like ol "Ben Rogers" was trying to stir things up, .. and tried to put words in Dez's mouth, or tried to get him to say something regrettable.

Good for Dez.

For the record, I didn't get that vibe from the whole article. I snipped the paras to focus on the questions. Overall, he was pretty complimentary of Dez.

Dez may not even draw Sherman, as they play opposide sides. Dez should be lined up against Maxwell more so than Sherman. I don't think either team will change their game plans.

One would suspect last year against the Lions where Dez talked before the game about being as good as Megatron might have a slight influence on this decision of his.

I thought the press baited him into that statement. If so, and this is the results, good for Dez learning.

Sometimes you just have to touch the hot stove to get the point. If so, and that was a teachable moment, then this kid is a lot more savvy than the press believed on draft day.
