Not so sure, looks like some decent stats to me.
I think many of times, for many different players, for all teams. People expect these guys to be supermen...they are not, there are good and bad games, and some of those so called bad games are... just the way the cookie crumbles....

Just because he hasn't gone off for 15 catches, or 200 yards or 3 TD's in a game yet, makes him neutralized. He does have blocking assignments too.

Not only that but the reason others are having success is because Dez is on the field. And those late TDs have been the difference in games.

I think you have a point. If Beasley or Harris is on his side it works in favor to our receivers because he drops back a lot into the cover 3. If we lined up Beasley or Harris on his side I wouldn't expect him to play press due to size advantage. Seattle will force us to beat their Cover 3.

I don't feel like Dez has really every been much of a smack talker. The media blew up what he said about Megatron, but it really wasn't a smack talk session.

Truth be told...Megatron is a physical freak....kinda like Cam Newton is at QB. But I do not care what the numbers say....I don't think Megatron is a better WR than Dez. Just like Cam...despite his freakish size/athleticism.....is not a top 10 QB.

I enjoyed the JJWatt/T.Smith battle last week. I'll enjoy a Sherman/Dez match up this week. I would love to see the game come down to that. Two great players with the game on the line. That's what it's all about.

And after Dez catches the winning touchdown on Sherman, he runs to the sideline reporter and says, "You don't guard me with that sorry CB. Don't ever do that again."

He's drawing a lot of attention, and then still making plays when we need big plays. Can't ask for me.

And he's saying all the right things. Dez has always been a team-first guy and a good teammate.

That said, and I know this is a can of worms....I still get the feeling that it's killing him not having more impact plays forced his way. Listening to his sound bites, he's saying the right things about people disrespecting Williams by doubling him. But you can kind of tell that it's killing him. He's promoting Demarco as the engine that makes the offense run, but Dez is in a contract year of his own. Go back and look, for example, at his reaction in the end zone when Williams catches the ball on Tony's phenomenal escape act on Sunday. Does his reaction look somewhat subdued to you, too? Because it really does, to me unless I've missed some of the reaction after the camera cut away.

This is all just speculation, and I'm not suggesting anything in particular about Dez bottling up anything that might pop-off later in the season here. Lord knows, the guy's gotten enough unfair criticism in his time in Dallas as it is. But it is something I'm paying attention to as the weeks go on. At least until he completely goes off and has one of the monster games he's capable of having. I will say, I was really glad to see him make the game-winning (sorry, Bailey) catch this week after a relatively quiet afternoon, otherwise.

I could understand why you would feel that way...and BOTH are unreal talents. But I stand by my statement. Many consider Barry to be a better RB than Emmit. But not me....there is so much more to being a RB than "juke" moves. They were BOTH great....but over the course of a game, over the course of a season, over the course of a career...give me Emmit. Most would consider Shaq to be more dominant than Tim Duncan....again Shaq was great....and definitely more dominant. But over the course of a game, season and career....I think Duncan is a better basketball player.

We still have a ways to go with Dez and Megatron..so let's see how this plays out.

If Dez faced single coverage on every play...he would match those stats. But we are trying to play winning football. So if you want to throw junk defenses at Dez...we will just run it for 150+ yards. I am not saying Dez is clearly better than Megatron. But I know Dez probably feels he can do ANYTHING Meagatron can do....but he has shown leadership and a winning attitude by encouraging his teamates and coaches to play the game to "win"....not to pad his stats.

And I don't know what goes on in the Lions lockeroom....but all I know is they don't run the ball...and Stafford/Megatron have gaudy numbers time and time again...but they do not win.

Yeah, but there's a difference between thinking you're the best and actually being the best. It makes sense that Dez isn't going to accept second place in any competition. And, frankly, it's probably the best way for him to think about it since he's also obviously willing to put in the hard work to back it up.

Trash talking is fun, seriously it is. Harmless gamesmanship to get the opponent off of their game. Doesn't hurt you or me the fan, doesn't hurt he or the other guy, it's part of the mental game. People who never played will never understand this so here's an example to those who were athletically challenged. Politicians talk a lot of trash to each other when they're running for office. If its true that Seattle does not move there DBs around then this should be the game where we exploit matchup opportunities.

Quite frankly this is the difference between Garrett and Linehan, Garrett would allow the defense to double Dez and take Williams out with there best corner. I expect Linehan to get Dez in the slot with Witten exploiting soft spot in the zone.
