I'm glad people are excited about our offensive line

there is luck with the draft as well...BPA happened to be Martin and I am grateful that he is here (makes me REALLY happy since I am a Notre Dame freak as well)...but, Donald and shazier went off the board, and thank the Lord that they did or we wouldn't have that dominant, young line that we have

I love Sean Lee but I'm just not sold on counting on him at all. He can't stay healthy so I'd be looking to fill in that void just in case as well but otherwise yeah I can completely agree with what you're saying here.

We might have to go corner in a later round cause of Mo.

They have these players rated so it does make it easier to assess who the BPA is when it's their turn to pick.

Get used to picks like this year and last in the first round that aren't popular at first.

You don't base your pick on need IMO. You go BPA so when and if all fails you can at least say we at least picked the BPA.

I'm saying with the success of the offensive line and them becoming an engine driving the offense, perhaps people have/will come around to doing the same on the defensive line.

Our linebackers might be set. Our secondary probably doesn't need A LOT of help at this point. It all boils down to getting better players on this line, but even this line might become wildly better by years end if Spencer, Sam, Brent, and Lawrence can contribute.

We should draft a QB next year if the opportunity is there to get a Franchise talent. We are one play away from being without Tony for a significant period of time or perhaps ever. His injury issues have not gone away. They are simply better protected because of the improved play of the OL but it only takes one play.

I'd rather have Brandon Weeden the QB for a significant amount of time during a year, than waste another season of Romo's career drafting a QB instead of getting him more help.

All well and good but what I think you are not considering is the fact that it could be a situation in which you don't have that option. We could be in a situation in which Romo simply can no longer be available so it's not missing another year, per say. It's not having any option if we lose Romo period.

As for me, Weeden is fine as a backup but if we are looking at an entire season, he's not the answer. We are good enough along the OL to be able to win if we have a decent starting QB. The goal is to win championships and if we can accomplish that by having another QB at the helm, then I think that's what we should do.
 
A lot of us asked for this kind of attention Paid to the line. It's a much more fun game When you dominate the LOS
 
Especially when romo proved to not need too many weapons. Hell make due with meh. Just look at the wr's who falter once they leave here

As I said, even if it was for the entire season, I'd take Weeden over wasting Romo's career any further. Weeden can be that decent QB.
 
I remember when Risen_Star used to argue this point about how the game is won in the trenches and the secondary was the last priority you put work into on a defense. Well he was right. The game is won at the line of scrimmage.

Right. I understood what you said. But the point is that it could be more then a season. It could be his career. That's a possibility as well. The injury is not going away. It will only get worse over time. Romo is at the stage of his career where things like this become much more possible then say a 27/28 year old QB.

When Romo's career ends, then it will be appropriate to draft a QB. It's not as if Romo having a career ending injury prevents us from drafting a quarterback after that season ends...

Yeah, no. We've gone down that road before. Took six years for us to even find a guy who could come in and give us decent play. No thanks, I'll pass on that strategy.

Completely different scenario.

We didn't make much of an investment at the QB position throughout that time. We tried to get lucky with scraps. The highest pick was Quincy Carter in the 2nd round, and he was a reach. He was also drafted to a team that was pretty talent poor.

By investing in the talent around Romo, you put a rookie QB in a better position for when they are brought in. It's exactly what Seattle and San Francisco did.

It's not different. It's exactly the same situation. First of all, you don't know what the investment process will be after Tony so you can't say it will be different. Second, you don't know how long it might take to find a QB. Tony is not long for the show IMO. Lastly, you don't know what the talent level on this team will be or what the cap situation will be 3 or more years down the line. It never hurts to draft a good QB if the opportunity presents itself, at this stage of the game IMO.
