What routes beat that blitz?

What routes would beat a blitz/fake blitz like that? (I'd like to have run it down their throats, or at least try)

I could see slants, except I kept seeing them trying to bait us into INTs with their LBs dropping back just for that.

9 routes seem the thing, only thing I can figure is our WRs don't ever seem to get separation, they're great but have to make contested catches which means the QB better be that much more accurate.

Combo routes? would that take too long?

I would think simple drags, slants, and hitches would be effective.


Also, i'd love love love love LOVE to see Dallas use Dez like Denver uses Demaryius Thomas and throw some of those bubble screens. Those would help keep a defense honest.

Did look like we were using longer routes. Don't think we planned on their being able to get that amount of uncontested pressure.

Even the last play, though I saw it quickly , it looked like the receiver on the left side of the field threw his hand up signaling " I'm open" but Tony went to Dez instead.
 
Screen passes is the best way. If they sell out like that you get your running back with blockers out in front and can really do some serious damage to them with them.

Whats worse is Murray had 81 receiving last night so he was effective getting him the ball. A couple of screens to him, for big plays, on those blitzes would have stopped that blitzing.

Pretty much.

I just can't understand that every single time they would show the camera angle from behind Romo on those blitzes, that as he's getting drilled into the ground, I'm seeing the backs of all the receivers going out into their patterns. Ugh. So frustrating.
 
There was one screen pass all night and that was when Weeden was in the game. I rarely see Romo throw screen passes, does he not like them? He can change the play at the LOS and he saw blitz after blitz after blitz. Why would he not throw ANY screen passes?
 
Well they better figure it out this week because everybody is going to blitz the hell out of us until we make them pay for blitzing.

If I am not mistaken....Skins did a pick 6 on Romo from a screen play last year..... Romo always seem to pass the ball in the face of adversity.... ..tells me they/he does not trust the OL or believe in the running game yet.
 
You beat the blitz by getting the ball out of the QB's hand within a second or two of the snap. Quick slant, drag, screen. Blitzes mean LB'ers are coming and that usually means big GAPS within the first 5-10 yards of the LOS.

Or you could do what the Cowboys do and wait for something to develop 20 yards downfield.
