What routes beat that blitz?

If I am not mistaken....Skins did a pick 6 on Romo from a screen play last year..... Romo always seem to pass the ball in the face of adversity.... ..tells me they/he does not trust the OL or believe in the running game yet.

They probably don't trust him either. They are one of the top Olines in the league and Murray is the top running back. He needs to learn how to throw some screens.

It was the definition of insanity. He kept doing the same thing and expecting different results. Just pure stupidity. Romo just isn't very bright and for some reason rarely ever throws screen passes. The offensive coordinator needs to be the one to demand him to do something different.

I think he is intelligent enough. I think it's an unwillingness to accept certain things.

I wonder who that could be??? Does his initials have 2 J's it it?

Not sure ......but whoever it is wants to be a "Real Football Guy", real football guys just don't grow on trees....much less trees that are planted in your own back pocket.

I would think simple drags, slants, and hitches would be effective.

Also, i'd love love love love LOVE to see Dallas use Dez like Denver uses Demaryius Thomas and throw some of those bubble screens. Those would help keep a defense honest.

I think drag routes would take too long to develop, ie clear the garbage in the middle of the field and reach the hashes where the receiver is open with a clear throwing lane. Hitches and WR screens are the way to go IMO

This.

For the life of me I don't know why they weren't running more slants and crossing routes.

Crossing routes are long developing plays where the receiver has to clear the garbage in the middle of the field and get to the hashes in order to give the QB a clear throwing lane. The receiver has to be out near the hashes or else there is high risk of the pass getting tipped by the rushing DL and LBs. I think slants and screen passes are the way to go

Cowboys should have rolled out some. Skins at times just overloaded Romo's left side with 3 blitzers.

I'm just wondering, why no slants? That's an automatic 5-10 yards in single coverage, and if the rest of the defense is blitzing (ala last night), it's a matter of time until Dez or TWill takes it to the house. We torched the NYG a few years back running slants, so I know they're in the playbook. Does anybody remember a single slant being run last night?

One to Dez from Weeden in the endzone. The one that Dez dropped.

It was a really frustrating dichotomy because whenever they didn't blitz, the pass protection was ridiculous, I mean Tony had all day.
