i would say he did have is chances though ....just has had extremely bad luck, The season is far from over and the cowboys are still very much in it...so relax there may still be other opportunitys for ROMO and the dallas cowboys in the future

There are a fair share of haters I would agree. Right now, most of what we are hearing are fans who are concerned about the future of the team. They foresee the need for an alternative and rightfully so. I personally believe Romo will bounce back and this wont be the doom and gloom forecast that many are predicting. But with that being said, in the next few years the Cowboys will be in the market for his replacement.

THis is how good Tony Romo is, he will go down as the most underrated QB ever. He carried a franchise when they didn't put the necessary pieces around him for so many years, guy is an absolute star in every sense of the word.

He had pieces, he just had an incompetent HC who was in charge of offense and the play designs....

If Jerry would have done the right thing and brought in an above average QB instead of Weeden this team would not need to rush Romo back. This team has way to many weapons to not be good with or without Romo but lacks depth at QB.

My goodness is there nothing in-between all these freaking platitudes that are constantly bandied about?

Oh, no doubt. Romo will be back and we might get a shot at the Cards again in the playoffs. I'm not concerned about that team with a healthy Romo, we will own them.

As many have posted, we are a 4-5 win team with out Romo. With him we add another 5-6 wins. Too bad most of Romo's youth was wasted by Jerry and his HORRIBLE offensive lines and WRs. Roy Williams, really???

Seriously??? Omg , this team needs more than a healthy Romo at this moment.

Name the Pieces that Romo needed to win with first and then let's debate it.

Romo has played with good receivers since becoming the starter.

I'll speak anytime I want to, thank you. If he keeps playing well and doesn't choke away games, especially in week 17 with the playoffs on the line, he certainly can win me back. He actually was well on his way to doing so before the skins game. Now, I am in wait and see mode. I don't hate Romo, I just decided in my mind that he would never lead Dallas to a Super Bowl victory. That's it. I still cheer for him and the team to win every week. I don't want to see him and the team fail. I just decided I thought it was better to move on from Romo instead of giving him $100 million while injured and coming off another failed season. I don't buy into the crap that life after Romo is all doom and gloom. Teams find new QBs every single year and if it takes a few years, so be it. Does anyone really think in 20 years Cowboy fans are going to look back on the Romo years and think how great we had it going 8-8 and missing the playoffs by one game. Yeah, these will be the good old days. I don't buy it!

I just hope the crowd who complains about Romo making adjustments to routs and blocking as well as the entire plays at times will back off a bit on how he runs the clock down. Weeden was able to get plays off with more than 5 secs most of the time but he was not making needed adjustment through out the game as Romo does so that we can put guys in the best situations to make plays. I don't care if the play clock is down to 2 or 1 seconds when it is snapped what matters is our guys now in the best positions to make plays to consistently move the ball.

Romo is clearly the most important player on the team, we don´t have a shot without him, it doesn´t matter if it´s Weeden, Orton, Kitna or whoever you´d like to put out there as a potential back up QB, there are no more than 5 to 10 guys in the world that can do what Romo does out on a football field, so let´s take a second to appreciate it, I didn´t need to watch yesterday´s game to figure that out, some will say. "what good has it done, 1 playoff win, 3 straight 8-8 records, he´s choked in big time spots” the same old things we´ve all heard for a while, but the truth is at least he gave us a shot the last couple of years, without him we probably go 4-12 year after year.

Getting back to 2014, there are no dominant teams, it´s a week to week league so If Romo´s OK I think we can contend for a SB, so love him or hate him every Cowboys fan should hope he´s back without missing a beat.

Saying that, I do think we should be planning for his replacement, another post-Aikman QB fiasco would be a shame.

Thanks for bringing this up. For what it's worth, I don't think that crowd is going to back off. I think they've switched gears to complaining about how the team didn't have the foresight to get a better backup QB in place this summer.

Chances are your right. lol I just think it is a lot better when you can communicate to the WR and TE to adjust their routs based on what you are seeing and that is something Weeden was not doing or allowed to do.
