can anyone remember the last time we ran a trick play?

flea flicker
halfback pass
fake punt
fake fg
surprise onside kick

does Garrett not have any of those in his offensive playbook?

Every year they run these reverses that never work. They're total garbage plays that need to get tossed out of the PlayBook and yet, they still try to run it very few games. A for effort I guess.

Other than that, there was some dipsy-doo that Lance Dunbar ran where I think we had ol down field that should've been called. Lol

I thought that was screen that Tony took too long to progress to. Like he was looking long but was going to screen the whole time.

I saw the thread title and immediate thought it was April 1st.....

I think we did an end around once with Harris. Went for -2.

Yeah, that's basically my thought exactly. That was the only 'trick' play I could think of this year.

But, don't forget the screen pass. I think that qualifies as a 'trick play' for us since we run it about as often as other teams run trick plays. And if the screen pass happens to work in a game, it will definitely not be ever run in said game. I think it is a law.

"There called illusions Michael"
I won't finish the quote lol......but we don't seem to run many

I don't see a lot of flee flickers in the league anymore. Hard to do when teams blitz or zone blitz so much. The flee flicker is best when the safeties are creeping up to defend the run, but have coverage responsibilities against a pass.

The one play I would like to see ran is some sort of reverse to Dez with him throwing the ball. He's a lefty which usually throws teams off on trick plays where the non-QB is throwing the ball. He also has a cannon for an arm.

I also love this trick play:

i don't consider a end around a trick play and i'm not a fan of trick plays against teams unless you are over matched. onside kicks have a very low odds of success and unless you are over matched in a game then the risk doesnt justify them. fake puts are all about certain situations. but when your team is built around the run then field position is important. halfback passes never impressed me. why take the ball out of the hands of your qb when we have a very good record of scoring with this offense traditionaly

Yes Dallas has those plays a couple of weeks ago reporter was talking about fake FG the Cowboys were practicing. As far as when of if they use them, really not concerned about it main concern is they continue to execute the offense as is

the reason why I ask, is Tom Landry used to run the flee flicker and the half back pass, infact I think he has used them in superbowls. with the respect our running is getting it might be time to use one of those. hint eagles game.

I think Dallas will at some point, I keep thinking having Harris come around on a pitch and have him throw the pass. I say this because Harris played QB at ECU for a period of time
