Owner acts to save dog from python’s death grip

At first glance, things don’t look good for this dog trapped in the death grip of a deadly python, but rest assured the dog escapes and is no worse for wear at the end of the video, evidenced by its healthy bark.
Still, it was a frightening moment for the dog and the dog’s owner in the forests of Karnataka in southwest India.

I'm guessing the guy knows how to handle pythons, since both he and the snake are natives to the land. Not every instance calls for death to the predator, who was just trying to get a meal. I do understand why someone would want to kill it, though. But, I am glad he knew exactly what to do to save his dog. Every one went home happy, although I'm sure the snake went on to find another meal, so that poor critter did not get to be happy at the end of the day. Nature is cruel.

This video is awesome. It is incredible how some humans can be so in tune with Nature's creatures. They are really brave (or nuts!). Oh, and another thing that I thought of a minute ago, regarding the man in India using the leafy branch to rub the snake, rather than try to pound it to death, is because the two predominant religions in India are Hinduism and Buddhism, both of which adhere to the belief that ALL life is sacred, not just human life, and should be preserved and protected.

This is a favorite of mine, concerning wildlife and man being in sync. This guy is actually a redneck rapper dude, but his passion is rescuing gators and crocs, and helps run a rescue sanctuary for them, where people can go and learn the truth about them. His name is Johnny Cobbler, and he is equal parts cool, brave, and insane. lol
