Syfy developing Superman prequel series 'Krypton'

Syfy is developing "Krypton," a prequel origin series that will tell the story of Superman's grandfather. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the drama will focus on his grandfather's fight to bring equality to the planet. The network is said to be working with David S. Goyer, the scribe behind the "Man of Steel" film as well as Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy.

It's just the latest comic book-to-television project, joining Fox's "Gotham," CW's "The Flash" and "Arrow," and the upcoming "Titans" from TNT and "Supergirl" from CBS. (TNT is owned by the parent company of CNN.)

Not too interested. Whatever he does is immaterial since the whole planet (sans Superman and a few others) ends up dying anyway. If the grandfather succeeds, they'll all just die equally.

not a whole lotta super powers in gothem either and that's turned out to be a pretty good series.

I stopped watching after the 4th episode. Just like any other cop crime drama. More gory though than most.

it can get a bit tedious depending on your own background with the character to be. I watch it when I remember and it gets recorded, but I have to admit I do like it more than I thought I would. however, still not holding out a bit of hope for krypton.

Was never that interested in Supes' origin on Krypton. Man of Steel confirmed that for me. What a mess.

IMO, good writing always makes for good entertainment. If the writing is good, it will succeed. If it's poor, then it will fail.

There was no good writing in Sharknado and that thing was a huge hit.

This is true. However, to be fair, Sharknado is not a series. It's a cult film thing but yeah, perhaps I should revise my statement just a bit. LOL........

Yeah, sometimes the limited knowledge of a part of a character is better. A little mystery.especially origins.
The over explaining is like being spoon fed. It's too much.

Dunno about that. Plenty of well-written shows have died painful deaths and plenty of terribly written shows are among the most watched in the country.

This is true.

Sometimes they just throw it up against the wall to see what sticks.
