Dallas can clinch home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs with:
1) DAL win + ARI loss or tie + DET/GB tie
2) DAL win + SEA win + DET/GB tie

Dallas can clinch a first-round bye with:
1) DAL win + SEA loss or tie + ARI loss or tie
2) DAL win + DET/GB tie
3) SEA loss + ARI loss
4) DAL tie + SEA tie + ARI loss or tie + DET/GB does not end in a tie

What do you think are the possibilities we can get a 1st round bye. SF & STL will be playing to spoil it for Arizona and Seattle. So we need to go for the win as you never know what will happen.

Back in 95, we were flying to play last game of the year, I think it was actually on Christmas day.
We needed to beat the Cardinals, and SF had to lose to a lowly team, can't recall who, maybe it was the Rams.

Well, SF lost, and word got to the team on the flight and it pumped up a kind of bumming team for not getting HFA. They went on to beat the Cardinals and got HFA, and of course played the Steelers back in Arizona for a SB win.

So definitely going for Cowboys win...:)
49ers & Rams to win. GB / Detroit tie, like that will really happen.
As for the NFCS, Panthers / Falcons, not sure who I really want here. Probably the Falcons.

As for the Eagles / Giants game, just to knock the Eagles a bit more, and them losing out after they beat us on T-Day, that would be funny. It gives the Eagles a better draft pick, but knocks downs the giants too. But al that don't matter.

Those two sentences have nothing to do with each other. The only way going for the win matters, is if there is a tie. There's a little better than a 1/500 shot that a tie occurs in one of those games. That's not worth the risk of injury and loss of rest....or preparation time.

We don't need to win to get a bye. Seattle and Arizona losing will get us a bye. Winning is always good and nice but it's not needed in this game.

Would not mind seeing the eagles win it would make their 1st rd pick a later pick. lol

Yes, thought of that too, but rather see them go out on a 4 game losing streak. If they win, all their fans will think they are on their way back to winning...LOL

Does them no good and if anything I think it would make their fans even madder since had they taken care of business and won before now they would not be sitting at home. lol Either way Philly or NY will lose and both are going home at the end of the game. Life is good once again.

Not sure why it is so hard for media outlets like the one cited above to understand, but the Cowboys do not have to win to get a first round bye.

I think the odds of Seattle and Arizona both losing are pretty small.

I would actually like GB to get the #1 seed and Seattle to get the #6. That would likely mean Dallas hosts Detroit, goes to Arizona, and then possibly hosts Seattle in the NFCC. Probably best case scenario.

I like that scenario, but it requires Seattle losing to the Rams at home. That is one game I'll be watching closely.

Rams winning on its own would be huge. That would mean no matter what no trip to GB round 2. Lions winning would also be good as then we get GB at home instead of away.

There's only two, San Fran & St. Louis that's how we win this week lol

Ill be rooting for the Rams, and Detroit...should the Rams be winning then i will root SF, I still think its very important that Seattle and GB are Wildcards.

Green Bay has lost 3 of their last 4 home playoff games. They are beatable up there in January!

The best we can realistically hope for at best is a 2 seed. Option number 3 above is the closest that can be a reality and that doesn't involve us winning or losing so we need to sit our key players.

It's really common sense.
