WRs Taken in rounds 1 since 2022

I think that the sample size is too early in the careers of the players involved to judge their true worth.

The sample should come from say 2017-2020
My premise was to see if a rookie WR could come in and make an impact this season since we could really use it. Jaxon Smith Njigba had 100/1130 last season and Jameson Williams had 58/1001

Some updates to the draft grades:

Luther Burden III 6.43
Jayden Higgins 6.33
Jalen Royals 6.32

To be honest, it's somewhat of a myth that this is a completely weak WR class. If you land Bech at 44, you're doing good.

Decent prospects all the way down to Noel.

These are the WRs taken in round one in the last three drafts sorted by their draft grades followed by receptions/yards and touchdowns in their rookie seasons. Since we trying to do something similar to the Eagles on offense my benchmark is 800 yard receiving (in bold) since Devonta Smith had 833 last season. This years class is inserted in bold by draft grade but obviously no stats yet.

Footnotes
:
-Njigba only played in 3 games his last year at OSU which may have slowed his adjustment to the NFL
-A grade of 6.5 is boom/bust but isn't always bad, Garrett Wilson was a boom but Burks has been a bust
-Jameson Williams was rehabbing an injury and played well in his third season
- McMillan's Comp is Drake London and they have the same grade
-Jordan Addison has outplayed his draft grade
-Pearsall was involved in a shooting but played well when he got on the field
- Luther Burden's comp is Garrett Wilson
-Matthew Golden's comp is Chris Olave
-Emeka Egbuka's comp is Jaxon Smith-Njigba
I wasn't sold on Addison, but I learned from that. He also plays with one of the best WRs in the league, which helps.

But yeah, good player who fit well with his surroundings..

And he was pretty consistent with similar numbers in his second season.

The smoke around Tet is really scary to me. I just don’t see it. The Hunter 2023 game was greatly exaggerated.
100% agree that Hunter played really well against him. Had a nice Moss TD but Hunter was in his hip a lot of the game.

Still think he’s a good option at 12 though in a weak class.

I think Egubuka = JSN.

It would feel like a bit of a reach but I think he’s one of the safest players in the draft.

Man I loved Addison…a little small but the perfect WR2 type player IMO.

In this draft I’m not sure there’s a WR at 12 I’d like over him.

If they want Tet trade back. He will still be available in the 20s.

While I agree we need a #2 WR and a RB, If we can't protect the QB or make holes for the RB we are just spinning our wheels. The trenches on both sides can make us formative with whoever we trot out there. Sorry I am for a trenches draft and allow our old farts at RB and young bucks at WR get a shot with stable lines.
