First off congratulations on a fabulous year! To set the records he did for a franchise as rich in running backs as the cowboys is quite a feat.
Now this: I can't be the only one that noticed how sluggish he looked when he broke in the open field yesterday.
Tired legs? Toll of all the touches from this yr?
Anything left in the tank for the playoffs?

He's looked that way for years now. I don't know what the deal is.

I thought he was wearing down but he ran hard yesterday.

I agree . He ran hard especially on the 3-4 yd gains. Always punished the tackler, but when he broke free, man he looked like he had a gorilla on his back

The difference in burst and yards left on the field between him and Randle is ridiculous. Murray has had a great year but I truly believe Randle or Williams could have done just as well if not better. I truly believe that Murrays ability to pick up the blitz is why he is the incumbant not his ability to hit wide open holes.

According to Murray he feels great and ready to go. 100 yards on 20 carries

Demarco had 12 touches when we sere up bog against the colts- we should have stopped ot at that- but instead we gove him another 30 touches for no apparent reason.

He needed to be rested.

He is a warrior no doubt, but did you not notice what I'm talking about yesterday. Did he not look gassed?

I think it is a lot easier to say that when Randle is only getting a couple of touches a game, but I tend to agree with you at least about him.

The long run Murray had and the long run Randle had were night and day. I think the big difference in the two is that where Murray is going to leave yards on the field from a lack of making guys miss or not having great speed, he'll get some yards that Randle won't on shorter gains by just pushing the pile.

The "what if" game is fun to play with Randle, but the more I think about it, the more I think we should be intent on bringing Murray back just for chemistry and knowing what you're going to get.

I don't think he was gassed as much as he is not a big break away runner but he picks up the tough yards and make plays. I love Randle but I don't think he can consistently pick up the yards, I think he is more likely to take it the distance but every down back picking up tough yards when defense are keying on you that is hard to do

Good points. And it's easy to fall in love with a back up that shows flashes. That's why I would have liked to see randle get the load yesterday and give Murray the day off.
Garrett has pushed all the right buttons so far, so he gets the benefit of the doubt from me. Be interesting to see how this plays out in the playoffs

He clearly doesn't have the same burst and pop when taking on tacklers. Even John Lynch mentioned it several times yesterday during the telecast. But it's to be expected given his high workload this season.

Hopefully he has some juice next Sunday.

Yep, pretty much. Not surprised by Murray's success now that the coaching team has realized that a running game is a good thing.

Murray was a speed back in his early college carreer. Everything was outside and if got a gap he was gone. I thought he ran hard yesterday, but he did look like a fullback on his long run. I don't think he has confidence in his speed, maybe with good reason.

He got it fairly early in the game. If that was the reason , why not sit him then

Good point. That's what I expected them to do. Apparently the head coach has this finish the fight mindset going on. I just didn't think a meaningless season finale was part of that fight.

Let's be honest though, at this point a dozen extra carries isn't going to change much. As long as he didn't get injured I think it's a non issue.

I'll say this about Murray, and I think garrett has mentioned it a couple of times, Murray's play the last couple of weeks with the broken hand has really inspired the whole team!! The team has flat out dominated. Congrats to him setting a new Cowboys rushing record.
