He's been playing against a stacked box the whole year. The skins played a lot of 1 on 1 on the outside yesterday. I'm sure this takes a toll on you.

He's looked that way for years now. I don't know what the deal is.

I thought he was wearing down but he ran hard yesterday.

Even going back to his days at OU, Murray has always had a deceptive running style. He always looks like he is at a fast jog rather than an all-out sprint. It's just how he runs...it looks like he's got ankle weights on even though in reality he is covering some ground.

It would be a problem if he was getting beat to the edge by linebackers or being caught from behind by players without an angle, but that's not the case. Murray just has a long gait for a RB and will always look slow if you are just watching him. Next time you watch him play, watch not only Murray, but the guys around him. He'll be covering more distance than you might think. For a back who has carried the ball as much as he has, I'm not going to complain about his burst.

Looking ahead to next season, I worry about Randle holding up as the lead back. He looks very lean to carry the rock 350+ times in a year. I know he's listed at 210#, but he always seems to get laid out when he is tackled cleanly and doesn't have the lower body strength to drive through defenders. Not that Murray's track record here was stellar going into his contract year...

If Murray's demands are unreasonable, I hope that Ryan Williams will be ready to step in, he still has some talent with the ball in his hands IMO.

First off congratulations on a fabulous year! To set the records he did for a franchise as rich in running backs as the cowboys is quite a feat.
Now this: I can't be the only one that noticed how sluggish he looked when he broke in the open field yesterday.
Tired legs? Toll of all the touches from this yr?
Anything left in the tank for the playoffs?

I think people put to much into what the announcers have to talk about in order to simply pass the time and not have dead air to deal with. it's no secret demarcos stats went down as the year went on. but ya know what? witten got more catches. Bryant has been a monster the last few games and is showing definite signs of attitude on the field, in his play, and on the sidelines.

I'm sure when the playoff lights hit he'll be fine. until then, people will get their worry on for just about anything.

if you watch the tape you see the initial burst then demarco see that the corner has the angle. he knows hes not gonna out run him so he slows down bit to try to make a hard cut inside. i think he is protecting himself at the same time trying score. how so? he knows if he goes all he gets tackled hard or simply gets pushed out of bounds. slow down a bit and cut inside has a possibility of more yards and not taking huge hit.

I made a point to watch for this yesterday. If you would've said it was Week 1, I would have believed you. He looked the same to me. What I didn't like was all the helmet to helmet hits he took...but that's just Murray's style. He is the best runner on the team and he will be missed next year. Randle doesn't have the weight to handle the workload in my opinion.

I'll never understand this criticism of Murray. He is a power back a la Lynch that wears defenses down; then you bring in a guy like Dunbar or Randle for their "burst."

The holes are there thanks to the OL. I like Murray but we really need speed at the RB position. I would be leaning toward Randle, Dunbar, Williams and a draft pick next year. Need youth and speed at the RB position. Murray will want too much money. Not worth it in my opinion.

This and he's just not a lightning quick back. Plus I doubt Randle could carry the load Murray has. I'm just happy to have both.

anyone else think Murray was robbed from a long TD run as he fell on top of the skins defender never touching the ground and was headed for the endzone but refs blew the play dead?

Yes

some people just seem to have some insane need to worry about things.

the D worries me.
will demarco be here worries me
can we afford dez, that worries me

it just seems to be pre-inventing excuses in case we don't play well. I suppose different strokes and all, but hell, we don't get in the post season enough. I'm gonna enjoy every minute we're there and not worry about all the things not 100% with this team.

this team isn't 100% there no. but the effort is.

and im enjoying the **** out of that.

I'm with you, not worried about what will happen next year with contracts, not worried about how Murray or defense will play. I'm excited about what the Cowboys have done thus far and the prospect of what they will do

The difference in burst and yards left on the field between him and Randle is ridiculous. Murray has had a great year but I truly believe Randle or Williams could have done just as well if not better. I truly believe that Murrays ability to pick up the blitz is why he is the incumbant not his ability to hit wide open holes.

Murray is the premier back because he pounds on the defense.

If anyone hasn't noticed he and the line beat the snot out of a defense by games end.

Its a beautiful thing to watch.

IMO it's as good as a done deal (the liquor store clerk confirmed it BTW lol)

Haha! We cannot resign both Murray and Dez as of the last I looked. Vikes are going nowhere in the years AP has left. I'd think they will try and trade AP but wont find any suitors for that price tag and will eventually give in and release AP.
