Why Did Romo Not Go for the First Down

What was Romo thinking by going for it all ??? He had a wide open Cole Beasley that would have produced a first down for the Cowboys.

Whenever Dez gets single coverage, it's automatic...Tony is going to him.

He took a shot in a big moment in a big game. I don't fault him for that especially with all the scrutiny he gets for everything he does. Took a lot of guts even if it was a throw to Dez Bryant 1 on 1 vs a small corner.

Don't try and blame romo for this. For criss sakes man. Romo is a warrior who is the most talented Qb the Cowboys have had since Staubach. Dez caught the ball and we played well enough to win the game. We were the better team. We were cheated out of advancing in the playoffs. Blatantly cheated out of our entire season

The way Dez can elevate, he was open. One on one coverage, 6'2 verse 5'8 and can jump like hes on a trampoline.. You take that shot every day of the week. Beasley probably would have been a higher percentage. play, but the Dez jump ball is not a low percentage play either.

He went for Dez because Dez had one on one coverage, that he wasn't getting much of, and you always take the play to your best player when they give you the coverage you're looking for.

It was the right call.

This is where I would disagree with that philosophy. IMHO, the goal should be to get the first down and have an opportunity at four more downs.

That plays not overturned and the storyline is how gutsy tony romo hit another clutch fourth down play

And getting a first down to keep the drive alive is a not a clutch play ??

This.

He's our best player, best play-maker. You know he wants it, and will come down with it. I have no issue with this.

Had it been T-Will he's throwing that up to, then I call for his head, and Linehan.

Troy Aikman and his three Super Bowls may have something to say about that.

That's all good my man.

To me the goal is to win the game.

They gave you 1 on 1 with your best player for a shot to go win the game. You take the shot to win the game. That's my opinion anyway.

Hook line and sinker.

Troy Aikman is nowhere near as talented as tony Romo. And the fact the team he should be grateful for having the pleasure to be on won three Super Bowls has nothing to do with that.

If tony romo was the Qb of the Dallas cowboys between 1989-1998 then we win more than 3 SBs

Don't mind the call one bit. They went for it. Came up short. All over now.

Looking forward to next season.

When you see Dez one-on-one on the outside, you take your shot. You don't think, "Hmm, maybe if I wait around here in the pocket while I'm being blitzed and look around a little more, I'll see somebody else open."
