Simple solutions are not in the NFL's DNA. They kind of subscribe to the IRS's methods of solving problems.

Agree. called deflect, defer, deceive when caught outright. We try to do that and its " what color would you like your prison uniform to be "

I'm rooting for more ridiculous calls in the last 3 NFL games of the season. I want this joke of a league to have more and more egg on their face. I want numerous team's fan bases fed up with the game rigging.

I agree with you but I don't see it happening. All we are going to hear is "they are letting them play"

Why do I picture Mara saying this while trying not to laugh ala Jimmy Fallon?

I know you're not saying it, so I'm not talking to you... but "letting them play" would have been not reversing Dez's catch... because he did catch it.

Those same people also claim that "if" he would have just caught the ball and went down then it wouldn't be an issue and they would have have the ball 1st and goal. So by saying this they are admitting that by reaching for the goal line he did make a making a "football move" and was trying to score. Too much was was left for one persons interpretation and should have never been enough evidence to over rule the original referees call who was standing two feet away.

You are correct. But for them to say Dez should have just gone down after catching the ball, well that's easy to say after the fact. Given what I know now, I also wish he would have just gone down. That said, I don't think there's a receiver in the league (ESPECIALLY Dez) that would have just intentionally fallen down after catching that ball. Every one of them, ESPECIALLY Dez, try to score there.

This could be argued till the cows come home. You want to know what it should have been be definition?
A freaking TD. That's right 6. If he lost control he fumbled. He recovered the fumble in the endzone.
I have had three former players that I know tell me that. One is a former skin who hates every thing about the cowboys.

I fully agree. What I am saying is that's what the will say from here on out.
2 blown calls in two weeks? They can't afford any more.

It's just the league mucking muckity mucks play acting like the rule is what screwed us instead of their replay official following orders.

Bigno. i don't give a crap what Mara thinks or says. his buddies in NY did what they wanted to do. they screwed the Dallas Cowboys yet again.they took away the chance for the cowboys to play for the NFC championship.they flat out cheated. Jerry should be screaming and raising hell about this. but he's not.and it's sad.

I couldn't imagine WR NOT trying to score. It's just some peoples way to put it on Dez.

You're right I bet. They'll try to have as little impact on the game as possible. Lay low for the rest of the playoffs.

Watching Inside the NFL today, you can also see Dez, and Tony hold their hands up with the TD signal, and Dez repeatedly commenting on how he was stretching for the end zone. That patch of turf coming up when he plants his leg/foot convinces me that he completed the catch and was indeed doing that, and in
the process fumbled onto his body, or using a " blandino -I'll interpret this to mean what I want it to mean " or the ground, and recovered it in the process of his football move into the end zone.

The Flag pick-up in the Lions game was not a blown call. stop trying to compare the two. i am sick and tired of it.the PI was a judgment call. this BS call on Dez catch was the NFL flat out cheating.

Both of those rules do need some clarity and simplification. Take the freaking judgement out it. If you catch and secure the ball and have full control (not bobbling it) with two feet in bounds, it should be a catch. If it pops out while going to the ground it's a fumble.

But...then you have the rule of "ground can't cause a fumble."
