You will feel reborn lol

Ok, but really... That's what Reality said, too. lol So after getting my data transferred, that's one of the first things I did. Main reason I'm not as stressed. Before I had no clue how to get to our programs. smh

Yeah windows 8 is a tablets touch platform.
Has no business on physical keyboard laptops (touchscreen or not)... Ok if screen removes like tablet :)

Should only be on tablets.

Ok. Windows 8 is kicking my butt. I downloaded the Classic Shell too, so that helped considerably. How is that these computers have no starter guide in the box? A little navigation thing for Windows would be so helpful.

Windows 8 sucks!!!! In fact it is so bad that the next edition will be Windows 10. They are skipping 9, lol.

What you really should do is keep looking at Apple's refurbished page and pick up a MacBook Pro when you have the fundage.

Between that and other deals that come up you can get last years edition for killer prices.

I still use my MacBook Air from 2010 with an SSD drive and it's as fast as current windows offerings.

:)

Just the day.... Someone said to me, "You should buy a Mac, Mac Its the best for video and editing"

This was after they watched a 50th birthday party video I created for their sister.

To which I replied. I created this video on a PC.... They looked lost.... Like PC can do that?

I laughed at their reaction

Meh.

I've use every flavor of operating system. I've just about programmed for every operating system.

Hands down Windows is the worst.

Config issues, driver issues, and many more are the reasons that we're finally making the move to Linux from windows boxes at work.

I've had one kernal panic since 2010 on my Macs.

Ah.. The video and editing crowd.

The lame window's user line when they try to lump every single Mac user together.

There's a reason why I see multitudes of Macbooks at programming conferences or meetings etc.

Look at a Google outing - count how many programmers use Macbooks.

Hell I do most of my programming on my Macs - I bootcamp or use a vm when I have to use windows.

Nothing lame about it. I didn't proclaim it was the best. I just crushed a dot-dee-doo Mac fan boy.
Understood? Don't take it personal sonny.... It's just "preference"

They are as annoying as the "android is the best eva cuz it's open crowd."

Multi-million dollar applications/projects tend to avoid windows when you want a stable environment to build upon. For all our distributed simulations the backbone is built using linux racks.

But, agreed. It is purely subjective and people should get what they like. But, there tends to be more 'crap' windows laptops/desktops than there are good ones.

Didn't take it personally, buddy.

Neither did I.

True "more crap windows laptops" etc ... but...

Mac makes up a very low percentage of computers used. So while Mac is great for a lot if things, graphics, video, user friend.y etc.

It is in no way the dominant operating system market share-wise.

Well it was obvious what WG was after. I dont understand the desire by some to make people do things the way they do.

If you can help, great. If not, drive on thru please.

The religious debate about OSs is beyond old.

Reread the thread. That post had nothing to do with woody and her questions.

And if it was that obvious this would have been a 2 post thread.:p
