You're right. It's easier to target blue chippers at 16 than 27.

But, I don't necessarily want to trade back just to get more picks. A few years ago when they were rebuilding the roster it was ok, but now we don't have as many holes and need some impact players.

It depends. They seem to average having about 20 players graded as 1st rounders. At #27 it's highly possible that the Cowboys could only have 20 1st round grades but that some of those players still make it to #27.

Agreed it will be a running back still left on the board, will be hard to sell a offensive pick in the first two rounds. Romo and Witten hear the ticking of the clock and waiting for a acl to heal wastes precious ticks. I am convinced the whole team makes a huge leap after two hard fought playoff games. If Murray goes we have plenty of options in this draft, none will be better only cheaper.
