Good news, Cowboys fans: It looks like DeMarco Murray might be returning to Big D.

Yahoo Sports’ Charles Robinson reports that the talk around the league from several sources is that Murray will re-sign with the Cowboys.

Murray, a third-round pick by the Cowboys in 2011, led the league with 1,845 rushing yards last season. He also posted 13 touchdowns and 416 receiving yards.

Despite his strong stats and excellent season, Pro Football Talk reports that the Cowboys feel Murray’s success was due more to their strong offensive line than his individual skills. PFT also says the rest of the league appears to share the same belief, which would result in a soft free agent market for Murray.

Murray reportedly is willing to give the Cowboys a hometown discount, so it sounds like that may end up happening.

Is this a repeat story from the other day, or is this a new story....I will wait for any official news....

I really hope this "rumor" is true but I hold back on that belief until Archer or Fisher report it....

No more than 10 million guaranteed please

Are you freakin' serious? Thank GOD you're not the GM. This team would be the Raiders - pay those that don't deserve it, yet lowball the players that are important.

hmmmm.....

I think we can get similar results by taking a back in the 3rd in this year's RB rich draft. I get wanting to keep continuity, but I would rather spend the $$$ on improving the D.

I'm not expecting to hear much news until Friday or Saturday.

It's not your money. so why do you care? you should be happy if this report is true, and one of our best players is coming back.

Do you know what a salary cap is and how it works and how not managing it correctly puts you at a serious disadvantage?

It is not about it being anyone's money, it is about not getting back into salary cap hell.

Sorry but I Don't trust Murray to stay healthy or even come close to his production last year, that was an incredible work load last year and he was clearly wearing down.I am OK with him being back but not a back breaking contract.

Hard to really say, but the date on the article is today's date. I really think it's just throwing crap against the wall to see if it sticks. I want him back because he's obviously a great fit in our offense, but another benefit is that we don't have to spend a draft pick to replace him. We need all the defense we can get in the draft.

Somewhere between the Ingram and McCoy deals leaves plenty of wiggle room both ways.

His link refers to Charles Robinson's tweet that is two day old.
